For they know

in Scholar and Scribe2 years ago (edited)

They’re not hiding
There’s just no need for them to be seen
They’re not without ambition
They just know the impermanence of all things
They’re not stupid
They’re just cautious with words
They’re not loud
They just know the truth lies in silence
They’re always kind
For they know we just appear to be different
They’re not poor
They just take as much they need
They're always compassionate
For they know all the pain
They're always modest
For they know life is just a dream
There are holy ones amongst us
In this life out of reach
But in another
I hope to be a holy one too

Hi @green.tea,

Using a series of contrasts to highlight the differences between the "holy ones" and the general population is good. Your poem is evocative. I could relate to it!
