The years pass on
My breath fizzles away
Leaving an empty shell
Hollow sound the echo
No heart in the core
For it is empty
Your absence wounds me
And I'm left helpless
Yet the river must flow on
The waterfall runs its course
Until droplets feed the ground
And it dries up
You say strength means
I push on without my true half
Maybe I'm weak
As my heartbeats slows
And my shell dries up
Maybe I'm a monster
Cold and unfeeling
To the mortals who lean on me
Let me lie by your side
Yet once again
Your fire igniting mine
Let my shell blaze bright
And my heart race faster
So I can be whole again.

Beautiful verses of unraveling feelings. Melancholy of times gone by and bittersweet notes of feelings. Your verses inspire me to write.
