Pregnancy is really a delicate time for women. I cannot fathom carrying another life inside me for 9 months or so. It must be a time of uncertainty, especially the first one, when you don't know what changes will happen through the term. Scientists have also found that a woman's brain structure changes to deal with motherhood. One of these changes leads to an increase in anxiety (to ensure survival of the baby), so this is another layer on top of what mothers go through.
