Greetings.
This is the fourth installment of my Spontaneous Poesy series. As always, I am not preparing anything in advance, improvising as the inspiration comes...
As an extra twist, I thought I should use
12 sylllables per line (Alexandrines)
Let us commence!
"I am thankful for the company of my cats
without whom solitude would be overbearing
I love them both dearly, they are close to my heart
I cannot imagine from them separating
We belong together my familiars and I
they bring me so much joy beyond words I can speak
even when I feel a compelling urge to cry
in their presence things never seem to be so bleak
They are at times playful and other times sleepy
either hunting their toy or purring on my lap
I 'm blessed to find myself in their proximity
they provide limitless energy I can tap
I understand why Egyptians deemed them sacred
because they both are as precious as that to me
guardians of my immortal soul consecrated
they prepare my journey into infinity
In the meantime I remain in this existence
bettering myself until I meet Anubis
under all the dedicated loving guidance
of Bastet's own children leading me into bliss"

Thank you for reading, may you enjoy!
I enjoyed this piece. I like that you added the extra challenge of syllables per line and stuck to it for a longer poem like this. Cats a certainly a blessing 😁
Thanks for posting this to the Scholar and Scribe community! We have our own tokens as well that you can earn with the #scholarandscribe tag! If you use it on posts in the community you will earn SCHOLAR and SCRIBE tokens from the votes of token holders!
Enjoy a slice of !PIZZA too ;)
Thank you for your comment (and pizza), pleased you liked my work! I have received a generous gift of scholar tokens from @jfuji when he invited me to join, which I have staked and already doubled through curation. I have a problem earning scribe tokens, however, since the "b" key is missing from my keyboard and I have to copy/paste that letter when I want to use it, which works in the general text boxes, but sadly does not in the tags box in the posting interface. At least, not on the @ecency front end, which I use (for points). I thought posting in the #scholarandscribe community, by itself, would be what was triggering the token mechanics. Guess I will have to look into using another front end where I can copy/paste in the tags, unless I can add the tag in the body of text?
What a conundrum! I just tested copy-pasting tags in peakd.com (it works!), so I suggest you simply edit your posts to include the tag in that interface (if you want to keep composing in ecency for the points).
