I clung to you so many times
in an embrace of shadow and light,
when life, with its cruel voices,
whispered in the wind its bitter cross.

I saw you in every golden dawn,
in the echo of laughter that used to be,
in the sigh of yesterday kept,
fearing that time would say goodbye to us, unwillingly.

It was a refuge, your embrace,
a place where the world was quiet,
and though fate marked its passing,
my heart, for you, clung.

I knew that part of my soul was crying,
that to hold on to you was to live in a cycle,
and yet, hope never ceased,
for the moments with you were my only bond.
