I lack many things, I know,
a coat of dreams that was not woven,
some arms that embrace faith,
and a mirror that reflects what she loved.
But how happy I am, in this instant,
each ray of sunshine paints the dawn,
memories fade, distant,
with the wind whispers of what was.
Each day I miss less, I free myself,
the chains of yesterday are stripped away,
my heart, once a prisoner,
today it dances in the air, soft and singing.
To the past I thank, sincere,
for the lessons I carry on my back today,
that pain, as an old knight,
forged me in flames, my wings are parties.
As painful as it was,
time, like a river, heals the wound,
today I am alive, in this heartbeat,
every step is a song, life is dear.
