Today I find myself at the crossroads,
my heart calm at last,
the memories I once loved
are fading like a jasmine.
It is I who am releasing you,
in this act of reflective love,
knowing that the goodbye is a hymn
to what was, to what I no longer live.
I prepared a coat of little stars for you,
I left you laughter and a song,
my wings, although broken, are blessed,
For in your flight I find reason.
Farewell is not forgetfulness, it is a gift,
it's the freedom of letting go,
and in my serene calm, I ask you,
that you always remember what we knew how to love.
