Let's Play Temporary: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow [ENG-ESP]

Some time ago I decided to teach my daughter Amanda the days of the week through a didactic activity at home, if you are interested visit the following

At this point Amanda consolidated the temporal notion of recognizing the days of the week and identifying three key moments of time Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. My daughter's interest in learning stems from the need to answer the question: what day is today or how much time is left until the special day, among other questions related to time. For this reason I dedicated myself to build another didactic idea to assimilate the abstract concept through a concrete process.

Amanda continues to develop her intellectual interest and sometimes altered the meaning of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow in sentences, incorrectly constructing the meaning she wanted to convey. In this sense, I proposed to educate at home with the following proposal, but remember to reach this knowledge I first taught the days of the weeks to move to a more complex state with the help also of linking activities of Amanda's daily life (school, walk, birthdays, routines, others).

Hace tiempo atrás decidí enseñarle a mi hija Amanda los días de la semana a través de una actividad didáctica en el hogar, si estás interesado visita el siguiente link. En este momento Amanda consolidó la noción temporal de reconocer los días de la semana e identificar tres momentos claves del tiempo Ayer, Hoy y Mañana. Este interés de aprender de mi hija parte de la necesidad en responder la pregunta qué día es hoy o cuánto falta para el día especial, entre otras preguntas referidas al tiempo, por esa razón me dediqué a construir otra idea didáctica para asimilar el concepto abstracto por medio de un proceso concreto.

Amanda continúa desarrollando su interés intelectual y en ocasiones alteraba en las oraciones el significado de Ayer, Hoy y Mañana, construyendo de manera incorrecta el sentido de lo deseaba transmitir, así que, me propuse educar en casa con la siguiente propuesta, pero recuerden para llegar a este conocimiento primero enseñé los días de las semanas para pasar a un estado más complejo con la ayuda también de vincular actividades de la vida diaria de Amanda (escuela, paseo, cumpleaños, rutinas, otras).

In this opportunity I share two simple activities to build, called by my Temporal. First on a cardboard, use white because I consider that writing black print captures the child's attention, on that cardboard place in order the days of the week. The size of the sheet and decoration will depend on the child's attention span, in this case the temporary one is 30 cm long and 16 cm wide. Glue the cardboard on a sturdy cardboard measuring 26 cm wide and 32 cm high and colorful to decorate the Temporal, I usually use recycled cardboard from toy boxes. Apart from making an arrow on a contrasting colored sheet to mark the day, glue the arrow on a clothespin. The Temporal can be fixed in a place in the house, in my case I hung it on the back of the exit door, then Amanda moves the clip with the arrow along the edge of the cardboard to indicate the day of the day. I recommend asking questions about what day it was yesterday and what day it will be tomorrow, helping the child with her finger to place it in time.

En esta oportunidad comparto dos actividades sencillas en construir, llamadas por mi Temporal. Primero en una cartulina, usar blanca porque considero que escribir letra molde en color negro capta la atención del niño; en esa cartulina colocar en orden los días de la semana. El tamaño de la hoja y decoración dependerá del proceso de atención del niño, en este caso el temporal, mide 30 cm de largo y 16 de ancho. Pegar la cartulina en un cartón resistente que mida 26 cm de ancho y 32 de alto y colorido para decorar el Temporal, por lo general utilizo cartón reciclado de las cajas de juguetes. Aparte hacer una flecha en una hoja de color que contraste para señalar el día, pegar la flecha en una pinza de ropa. El Temporal puede estar fijado en un lugar de la casa, en mi caso lo colgué en la parte de atrás de la puerta de salida, entonces Amanda desplaza la pinza con la flecha por el borde del cartón para indicar el día de la jornada. Les recomiendo hacer preguntas qué día fue ayer y qué día será mañana, ayudando al niño con el dedo para ubicarlo en el tiempo.

After a few days of practice, it is time to make a more complex Temporal. Write on a white cardboard the days of the week and the words Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, cut them out and if you wish, you can laminate them; then choose a sturdy cardboard of the desired color, horizontal position and size according to the words. On the left side of the cardboard paste in the following order Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow; on the right side of the cardboard well centered paste 3 magnets, I used thin fridge magnets, cut to paste also on each day of the week on the back. The Temporal is also placed near the exit of the home and Amanda removes the cardboard with the days of the week and looks carefully to capture the day as appropriate, the others are piled on one side. When she gets confused, she turns to the first Temporal or sings the days of the week, then everything flows.

Después de días de prácticas, es tiempo de hacer un Temporal más complejo. Escribir en una cartulina blanca los días de la semana y las palabras Ayer, Hoy y Mañana, recortarlas y si lo desean pueden plastificarlas; posteriormente elegir un cartón resistente del color que se desee, posición horizontal y del tamaño acorde a las palabras. En el lado izquierdo del cartón pegar en el siguiente orden Ayer, Hoy y Mañana; en el lado derecho del cartón bien centrado pegar 3 imanes, yo utilice imanes delgado de la nevera, cortar para pegar también en cada día de la semana por detrás. El Temporal también lo ubique cerca de la salida del hogar y Amanda quita las cartulinas con los días de la semana y busca atentamente plasmar el día según corresponda, los demás se amontonan en un lado. Cuando se confunde la niña recurre al primer Temporal o canta los días de la semana, luego todo fluye.

Amanda, 5 years old, feels confident to make mention of the day, the temporal sentences make sense because she recognizes that there are three cognitive categories (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow). She appropriated the meaning of time, she counts the days, she knows how long she has to wait and thanks to the construction of the Temporal we can review some letters of the alphabet; also when she wants to write a name she visits the Temporal and asks me to represent the word. The Temporal works notions of time, in the same way, vocabulary, attention process, concentration, analysis, discrimination, classification and memories active cognitive processes of the child to build concepts, every time Amanda deals with the Temporal she celebrates dancing, smiles or makes a gratifying gesture of victory.

Amanda de 5 años, siente seguridad para hacer mención del día, las oraciones temporales tienen sentido porque reconoce que existen tres categorías cognitivas (Ayer, Hoy y Mañana). Ella se apropió del significado del tiempo, cuenta los días, sabes cuánto debe esperar y gracias a la construcción del Temporal podemos repasar algunas letras del alfabeto; también cuando desea escribir algún nombre visita el Temporal y me pregunta para representar la palabra. El temporal trabaja nociones de tiempo, de igual manera, vocabulario, proceso de atención, concentración, análisis, discriminación, clasificación y memorias procesos cognitivos activos del niño para construir conceptos; cada vez que Amanda se ocupa del Temporal celebra bailando, sonríe o hace un gesto gratificante de victoria. Ustedes son libres de hacer el temporal en función a los materiales y creatividad.
