Yeah working from home has definitely helped our son expand in many ways. Not only that, I get to be around to help my wife more than I ever have and it's strengthened our relationship I think, where some it worsens having to be around your spouse. That, I can't imagine.
With the little ones, they get to have much more of a parent-involved childhood when you get to work from home, I think. It improves their skills in many ways and adds to their confidence with the world. I get to build more things, clean, cook, involve him and give my wife a break which is huge. We are hoping to take the next step and move far away from my job so that I can work remotely in a much warmer environment where our son really gets to have fun outside.
I think that is the biggest winning thing from all what has occurred. I have been seeing many companies won't be going back office based. Its not because it's better for us but because they're saving millions of dollars in rent and utilities.
My utility bills have gone up quite alot but I am happy to wear that cost to stay home. I know alot of people at work who in the crisis moved further out and some interstate.
They did so because previously they couldn't due to commuting to work but when things go back to normal and they're living in another state work will need to accommodate that. They have proven they can do the job from another state or further out so won't be able to be sacked.
Very smart move by them.
