Hello everyone in this beautiful community of constant growth and learning, today I am going to tell you about a strategy that, although it is not new, it is always very useful especially to show the value and importance of friendship, as well as to express our appreciation for our friends, the friendship cards made by ourselves.

Although today we have a number of tools and strategies at the technological level with which we can create virtual cards, there is nothing more beautiful and a unique memory as making a friendship card for our special people. With this strategy, we work on writing, fine and gross motor skills, imagination and creativity.

Materials we need: recycled paper, cardboard, glue, scissors, if we have colored cardboard, colored pencils, colored chalk, and the details or decorations that the children have at home. I applied this one with my children from the non-conventional school, which works for children who are not in school or those who are in schools and have weaknesses in different areas of learning.

The first thing is the design of the card, we are going to let our little ones be as creative as possible, we help the little ones if they need to shape their paper, make them some guide lines so that later they can cut and fold. In this process, the little ones decide the size, shape and even how they want to decorate their card, always with our guidance, remembering that we must be very careful when it comes to working with scissors.

Then we are going to ask them what message they want to write on their cards, what they would like to say to that special person, at this moment, we take the opportunity to talk with them about the value of friendship and the significance of expressing it. Here we take the opportunity to teach them some techniques for writing and spelling, because as we are helping the children we can include the correct use of language and how to express with words what we carry inside.

Finally, when we have our card ready, with its decoration and message, we encourage the children to share their experience, show their cards to their classmates and talk about how they felt making the cards themselves. We don't need expensive materials, just to show how we can work with what we have at hand. The value of friendship is fostered from a very young age, making children value and appreciate those people and beings that we know and that throughout life become our inseparable ones is a learning process from being and for being more human.

Receiving cards from a kid is the sweetest thing of all. They say the sweetest, most random thing that popped in their head at the moment they were creating the cards. I like doing card making activities with mg kid too. It helps her learn how to express her thoughts and feelings in an artistic way.

I remember when I was a kid at school, my friends in class would share notes to each other every day. We write simple notes like, "Have a nice day" to each other and we collect them. Fun times.

Making cards really can foster strong bonds and relationships, at the same time it helps them to express themselves through words and arts. A great activity, indeed!

great activity! I like when people use for studying something that we all have at hand. And it teaches kids be creative as well.
Friendship lesson is very useful!
