We shared some great words on @definitions this week. Our words of the week are:
- Abrogate
- Blasphemy
- Plaintiff
- Enigma
DEFINITIONS AND EXAMPLE SENTENCES:
Abrogate (verb) - to cancel or deny
• The parents abrogated their rights to the child when they placed him for adoption.
• The businessman did not abrogate his employees' benefits during the pandemic.Blasphemy (noun) - speech that offends religious sentiments
• The man was accused of blasphemy for speaking against the well-known prophet.
• Many people struggle with doubt, but that does not mean that they have committed blasphemy.Plaintiff (noun) - petitioner (in a court of law)
• The plaintiff asked for a divorce because she believed her husband was unfaithful.
• The plaintiff's lawyer asked that his client be awarded one million dollars.Enigma (noun) - a puzzle or mystery
• The missing gold is still the greatest enigma of the small California town.
• Even though the actor was famous, his life is still an enigma. Not much is know about him.
HOMEWORK:
Write the words of the week in one or more sentences. I will stop by to give you feedback on the sentences you write.

(I'm looking forward to their IPFS and coin mining integration introduced at #hivefest. @anli - I reached out to the 3Speak team about this message. The video was available one day and then gone the next.
I think they are doing so great things. That is why I wanted to start uploading my videos with them. I included a YouTube link since my video was not showing as expected.

Those are all wonderful and practical words. Vocabulary is so important so students can read the good stuff. I shudder to think of the limited vocabulary they get through modern media.
Thanks for the support and kind words. Vocabulary is very important, both for native speakers and non-native speakers.
When I lived overseas, I was always able to explain my thoughts and ideas, often in long paragraphs. And when I told my wife about my experience, she would say, "Why didn't you just use the word ______?" Sometimes one word is enough to explain an entire idea.
