Just yesterday, while I was trying to do my chores, a neighbor's daughter came to me saying she was asked to do a paper mache work and bring it to school on the first day of their resumption to school which happens to be tomorrow Monday and she doesn't know how to go about it.
Although it's been a while I did this kind of thing, maybe seven years ago or less but I still git a little knowledge about it and decided to help her out.
It was difficult from the beginning since it had been a while I did such, I had to try so many times to bring out the desired shape we were looking at.
Firstly, I got our starch, papers, and blue we will be needing since we could not find the natural starch extracted from cassava directly. We had to do with what we can get at that time.
We got a bowl, poured in our starch, and stirred until it is well mixed, then we added our papers into the mixed combo and continued storing until the papers are all soft.
We began to fold the papers when we noticed the papers had absorbed enough starch it needs, to be able to give us the shape we need.
When we were done molding our shapes, we poured our blue into the bowl of starch and mixed again, and then we began to soak our balls into the mixed bowl
It was fun teaching this kid how to go about paper mache and I must say it was one of my childhood fun I miss. Although we could not get any form but I was happy I was able to teach this kid how to make it.
When we were done soaking all the balls into the mixed combo, we decided to sundry it so it does not break or scatter.
Wow this is a nice one. I like it,I would love give it a try someday...
Alright, I will be expecting to see your outcome soon.
