Hello my dears! It's been a long time since I shared some stuff with the community hehe! I didn't even realize it until now!
How is everybody doing? 💛
I wasn't sure where to post this in the first place. Is it something I should have posted in DIY community or is it ok to post it here?
I chose to post it here because the purpose of this activity I made together with my 3 yrs old isn't necessary something I look at like a DIY thing.
All the crafts we do aim to engage my little one in various activities that will arouse his curiosity, imagination and creativity, patience, fine motor skills but also give him a moment to relax and express his feelings.
This activity was so relaxing and my son was incredible happy to paint these eggs. Ta-daaa!
Easter is right at the door!
For this activity you only need:
- craft eggs (made out of Polystyrene Foam)
- acrylic paint.
I didn't try it with water colors but I'm guessing it's not the same because the colors won't stay so bright on the polysyrene and also this type of material is water proof. I know for sure you can use colored markers instead (carioca).
But working with acrylic paint is what makes my little one happy when it's coming to art.
Besides using the brush, I put on the table some tiny little peaces of dish sponges I cut before we started.
In the end, my son used his fingers and hands to put the paint on the eggs.
They're not the most beautiful ones I've seen but they are perfect beacause they're made by a small child. You still can see the white under the colors.
I think it would have been nice to apply the acrylics one more time, after the first layer would have been completely dried up.
One TIP TO KEEP IN MIND is to have some wet napkins near by. The whole process get really MESSY!
And just a quick mention, here are Six Brain Health Benefits of Painting
[source]:
- Painting fosters creative growth
- Painting strengthens memory (and concentration)
- Builds problem solving and motor skills
- Provides stress relief
- Promotes an optimistic attitude
- Painting nurtures emotional growth
And the most important thing, Painting is FUN and relaxing! 🎨🖌️
Which one is your favorite?
Main is the first one, from left to right in the first picture below.
Thanks for reading everyone,

I'm do glad I did not miss your post this time as it's a very interesting one. I see you've been busy with your little helper ☺️
It is a wonderful idea to make Easter eggs at home (rather than buy them from the supermarket). I've been doing it for years and already have an idea for that I'm going to do this year. It is even better to teach kids how to do it. It can leave them with wonderful memories, as well as help them develop some new skills.
You're a very good mother! 🤗♥️
Ohhh you are soo soo sweet! Thank you for your kind words, I do my best to be a good mom as possible but thank you!😍
We're always busy with something haha!
Ohh really? What do you make this year? Let me know if you're going to post about it! I would love to see them ❤️
Good to know that! I paint cause I am very into it, but did not know all this facts at all.
haha! Well, that's the most important thing. The rewards come when you do what you do with pleasure and passion.
Maybe yes, maybe no... as you may see, none of my posts received cool support from community. And I dont dare to share my drawings yet. 🤗
Did you post in home edders community? Or you mean in general? If you are just in the beginning, I know how it feels. I was there too! But you must remain confident and dont put your time much in how to get rewards. They will come one day, you'll see!
Wow, wow, wow, they look so beautiful! My son loves to paint/color too, with that being said I am going to do this fun activity with him. Good afternoon!
Well, thanks! Have fun with this one! 😍
You're welcome (^_^)
Que linda actividad ha realizado con su hijo, los huevos de pascua quedaron hermosos.
Saludos
Thank you very much!
I particularly love the way she combined colours in some of the eggs.
Yes, those are very beautiful! Thank you for stopping by!
Your daughter is very talented and they turned out beautifully. A creative and fun strategy.
Thank you.:)
"Enseñar a hacer" es un excelente lema, desde pequeños deben sentirse útiles, al tiempo que trabajan en actividades que los llenen de placer. Muy buena idea, así va desarrollando sus destrezas pictóricas. Saludos.
Thank you for stopping by! Definetely agree with you, all of it! We need these activities if we want that these little creatures get to appreciate art and crafts.
