Good afternoon everyone... It's a wonderful privilege for me to be writing in this community for the first time. I haven't taught in a while now since last year and trust me I can feel the burden now....
I recently resumed my teaching practice in one of the school in ibiono, trust me, it is not an easy journey for 6 six weeks and I am just resuming...
I was posted to a nursery and primary school which are still operating with the olden days facilities example; blackboard and white chalk... And it's kind of annoying....
This is the stress involved in black board and white chalk. All the bendings and kneeling and dirtying of hands and the annoying part of it is that thing children are soooo annoying, you will be trying to control them but they will repeat the noise and everything.
Sometimes, students can be very difficult to control, but as a student teacher, I was taught classroom management, how to help the class reduce noise and how to handle the class when needed..
Just like this, I was busy writing on the board while my pupils were busy making a noise, fighting and screaming, and at that point I had to stop my writing to control my class to be in total tranquility.
Teaching primary 2(two) is another world on it own....
I was trying to show my pupils how to calculate using alphabet...
At first they were trying to confuse my brain because omor.... I don forget all this things since, so Small children wan use my brain soak garri.... But I ended up using their own to drink garri....
Small remain them for teach me sef... Which kind children wan remove fire from my eyes..
🤣😂Let me pause and laugh here.... I was given mathematics to teach and I couldn't help but laugh in addition... I was kind of worried because I have phobia ahbi fear for math... Not as if I don't know anything here, but at least I helped my pupils to know how to add and subtract using their hands...
Though they were all giving me headache, I just had to be patience with them and gave them more time because I realized I was once like them. I was groomed by someone else do I refused to be tired of them instead I started using their weaknesses as their support system..
Trust me, teaching profession is too interesting with the right set of people... I am a teacher with a different.
