Papier Mache is a French term used to describe pulp or mashed papers used for modelling.
Material used for making Papier Mache
For our exercise we used the following materials for the creation
Soft papers.
Starch or gum
Pestle and motar
Mould
Scissors
Water
How to produce objects using Papier Mache
Step1: Soak soft papers like newspaper for about four to five days in a container.
Step 2: Prepare cassava starch
Step 3: Remove the soaked paper from water, squeeze and pound in water.
Step 4 :Mix starch with pulped paper.
Step 5: Use prepared Papier Mache pulp to make a desirable object and leave it to dry. E.g Cup, plates, bags etc.
So we did ours following these procedures and we had these
beauties…
