In my country unschooling education (family education) has been legal for about 20 years already.
It's legal and protected by the law and the Constitution. But not always and not anywhere.
Tatarstan is a region where unschooling is attacked most often.
I follow family education news and CPS stories, and in Tatarstan there are more and more cases where families should fight for their rights not to lead kids to school.
CPS is used like a powerful weapon against it.
The latest news show the roots of this outrage.
The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic Ilsur Khadiullin believes that children who are educated at home are less socialized than their school peers.
He stated this on the sidelines of the traditional August meeting of education and science workers of the Republic.
There are about 4500 unschooling children and teenagers in Tatarstan. According to the Minister, they should be in the area of special attention of municipalities.
This sounds like a sentence for these families...We all know what will follow these words...
Children studying outside of an educational organization do not have the opportunity to use all the technologies and tools that the school can offer. In addition, they are less socialized than their peers, - Khadiullin said.
The quality of the exams passing of unschooling kids is lower than that of children studying in schools.
The Minister of Education of Tatarstan instructed local authorities not to allow transitions to family education, as well as to conduct explanatory talks with parents.
It's total LIE.
Unschooling kids are very friendly and open because they do not face school abuse, and they have lots of time for walks, friendship and communication.
Moreover, schools do not propose good educational basis and enough supply for chemical and physics experiments.
Exams results are also a bad argument because this year we had lots of scandals that "the best school students" failed state exams!
Why?
because their marks were not real! Schools just choose 1-2 student and make them "the best" for their own rating!
No knowledge - just marks!
Including CPS to this question is the most dangerous part...
It’s a take as old as time - tyrants want to keep the children under their control via social engineering. When kids aren’t subjected to the state system they are more often not swayed by that bullshit and don’t end up like those who swallow the bullshit. It’s a good thing people are pushing back and keeping their kids home more!

This isn’t popular over here but I’m curious though, do these kids stay homeschooled till they are adult or up to a certain age?
there is no definite time, they can be unschooled till the end of education, and in the 9th form they can pass exams and get the same doc about the finished education
