It's a great idea of a game combined with educational process, and I must admit it was really interesting!
You baby is younger than mine, so you used 2D variant, my boy needed something more complicated so I changed and developed your idea a little;) We added 3D shapes and some more complicated shapes in 2D.
And the idea is perfect because we can change it for different needs and wishes.
I saw this idea here in our @HomeEdders community where @missdeli posted it. Thank you very much! 😘
So we took sticks and plasticine as well and tried to create shapes written in the paper.
It was geometric shapes.
Then it was letters
ANd finally we had fun creating different rockets and fantastic shapes;)
Now my son knows and understands what the difference between a cube and a square is:) Nothing is better than creating them by your own hands.
Maybe your next lesson should be crystalline structures - i.e. body-centred cubic, face-centred cubic, hexagonal close-packed, etc. If you combine different colours of plasticine, you could make the lesson a very basic chemistry primer, if you haven't done that already. I was about your son's age when I started getting into chemistry.
Thanks so much @steampunkkaja we will be trying all of these amazing shapes,( 2D, 3D, crystalline structures and other creative shape, within the week, as we engage our home school diary for the new week. thanks
thanks for bring me on board, the #homeedders family is an amazing place.
have neber heard of it...and I must admit, I'm rather poor in chemistry
School chemistry was very boring and complicated because of a bad teacher, and from that time I was sure it was super boring and not for me. Later I saw many examples chemistry is VEY interesting, it can be fun, it can be very useful and very cool. And I discovered it when I had my son and made some experiments with him;)
How much we could miss because of bad teachers and bad education...it;s ine more reason why I am FOR unscholling.
thanks for advice!
Blessings @taliakerch ! I think this is an excellent activity to work on motor skills with the little ones as well as to know and identify geometric shapes.
exactly! it's useful for hands too
thanks!
I'm really happy that you tried it and it was useful! I might try your handmade watch too! Didnt have time for it but one day.
Actually, we've made some 3D shapes here too, but I didnt post it. Altough we used magnetic pieces. The shapes look really nice!
The purple color of the play-doh is so beautiful!
oh, we like magnetic constructor too, it's so cool, even for me:) but rather expensive here:(
Ohh we found it here at an acceptable price.
Excellent strategy! Very good, since it leads the little ones to a level of concentration, resolution of the problem presented. Also, they love playdough. Greetings
thank you! so easy and so brilliant;)
Good job @taliakerch I think my son is also going to love this fun unschooling activity in the form of a 3D shape game. With that being said, I will this one out with my son.
you're welcome to try!☺️
Hola amiga 👋
Muy interesante esta idea para que nuestros niños aprendan figuras geométricas, a mi hijo también a veces le cuesta y las confunde. Lo voy a probar en casa con mi hijo.
Saludos 🤗
yeah, when we were studying letters and numbers, we did it from anything that was by hand;) the main was to show a kid it's not boring, and letters can bring fun too. Thus, he remembered them very quickly;)
I'll def try this with my 3 years old. He would go crazy about making numbers with these.
yeah really amazing, i will also try same
Hello @taliakerch, without a doubt a good strategy to develop fine motor skills and the recognition of geometric shapes, it has been a good way to adapt a method seen right here in the community, I think that in terms of 3D geometric shapes, if they can build them It is better for your learning, and much more if the activity is fun.
Absolutely amazing, we've had this mind in our home school diary, Thanks so much @taliakerch and @missdeli for sharing the amazing and interesting strategy for understanding shapes, Its sticks in the mind and difficult to forget. please permit us also learn by your approach, were i am cant lay hands on the readymade, tools but trust me, we will sure improvise. thanks for having me @ekotmordemy
That's great to hear! Use whatever you could find there, dont need for playdoh if dont have it!
I will be making the playdoh today, in view of the week homeschool dairy.
i just found out that it is very easy to do it, maybe i will share with the house.
