UNSCHOOLING FUN: KIDS VOCABULARY & INTELLIGENCE

in Home Edders2 years ago

Vocabulary is directly related to the development of intelligence and logical thinking - all leading scietnists of the world support this position.
So our task is to develop vocabulary of our kids using any way they like.

After 5 y.o all kids enter a period of "Why, where and when" and ask 100s of questions every day!

It's a real challenge for parents to reply all of them;) ANd we can make their vocabulary rich during these talks.

No need to use simple and easy words only, we can use different words even those we think are too complicated for kids' heads, and it will be a nice way to make them think and remember new info.

And there is a great game we use to reach this goal too - a game "WHAT THE TERM MEANS".
It develops imagination, increases erudition and expands vocabulary.

🌟 Game Rules:

Any number of players!😉

  1. Take an explanatory dictionary (or any othert book with not only childish lexics). If there is no paper version, then use e-books.
  2. Open it on any page. Choose any word, say it and ask another player to explain its meaning.
  3. If he explains the meaning of this word correctly, then he receives a prize. For example, a coin, or any other sign that give him +1 point.
  4. The winner gets the most point in the end of the game.
For example, you can take 5 rounds, or 20 words and tries, and choose the best player with the richest vocabulary.
And it's more often to explain this word well! Not only by 1-2 words. It teaches a child to make nice sentences, to develop his thought and idea.

Who will play it today?:)😃

Greetings @taliakerch,children often ask a lot of questions, you are still thinking how to answer a question , and there come more questions, with my son it has happened to me on several occasions that his questions give me ideas to explain certain topics.

Blessings!

it's a nice way to be more educated for us;))

You just gave me an idea to buy those alphabet cubes, my son loves playing with so I think I am going to buy for him.

Interesting point. Cheers
