Hello to all the members of this community, in this new year much life in health, prosperity and love for each and every one. Today I want to tell you about the importance of sports routines in learning. While it is true that sports help a lot in terms of maintaining a healthy life, in the case of children, it is very important to have sports routines outside of school, with which to strengthen different skills, abilities and competencies.

In the case of my son Diego, sports have become a basis for the development of numerical skills and coordination. In this case, we noticed that he liked soccer and I began to look for a soccer school near the house where I could enroll him, he is a little smaller in height than other children his age and my fear was that he would feel frustrated or could not do the routines like the others. However, again I was underestimating my son, I guess like any parent I was a little fearful and attentive to take care of him in everything.

The first thing his mother and I did to start soccer school was to prepare him psychologically, because after the pandemic, both he and his sister were afraid of people and their social skills were affected. So, we decided to talk to him and tell him that what he saw on TV was a team game and that he should learn to socialize more with his teammates. These things need to be discussed with children before they are subjected to new experiences.

Second, we took Diego to his soccer tryout, in this case the coach explained to us that he would be on trial that first week to see if he really liked the sport, something that seemed logical to us, because it is not the same as what they see and draws their attention to the reality of the matter. I tell you that Diego passed his test successfully and is already part of the team.

A third step was to establish schedules. Between school and home activities we had to organize our time very well, so now we have our calendar of activities, where we mark what we have already done each day of the week. What surprised me and his mom the most was that as he was advancing in his training, his numerical skills were getting stronger, this was related to the routines they are taught in soccer, where they have to count the steps, repetitions and keep control of the stopwatch in terms of speed and even breathing.

Another aspect that has caught our attention is that we notice that he is much more attentive and coordinated in the activities he does, the teacher at school has also told us that his behavior in terms of socialization has improved a lot. That is why, as parents we highly recommend that the children do some sporting activity that helps them to improve their routines and for their welfare, before we were very concerned that our children depended too much on technology, now they themselves ask us to go out to the park and especially the soccer practice three times a week have become an opportunity to do something as a family.
