A few weeks back, when I was settling into my bed for the night, my youngest daughter, who still sleeps close to me, asked me the following, "Tell me about my power?".
What type of power do you mean? I replied, " there are many different types of power, the power we have, that the earth has. The power that is needed to create, so much of what we use in our lives."
"The power that I can feel inside me and in the ground" she replied. I really wasn't sure what her response would be. But I was wonderfully excited by what she just said.
She wanted to know if I had any books about power. I told her about my Earth Wisdom books and she asked of she could see them. So I handed her a few, then she sat down and looked through them.
"Have you got any books on Sun Power", she called out when she had finished looking at the books. I don't unfortunately, but I told her that I would keep look out for some.
I have some books with stories about the sun, mythology and of course there are some in my Earth Wisdom books, but she wanted ones, that were only about the sun. Because she feels its power and she has some of it inside herself.
"I can sometimes feel the power in my hands", she said to me.
"Well use that power to be creative, to get things done" I told her.
It's amazing how quickly our roles switch as parents. From helping to educate our children, to them educating us.
My mind gets blown, by some of the conversations I have with my girls. My youngest is 6 now and she is full of wisdom, she is so in the here and now, so full of life and of magic. She really sees and feels life. She is so plugged into it. Into what it means to be alive.
As we grow up, we get distracted , we get pulled away from the present, and find ourselves living mostly in the past or the future. We get pulled in so many different directions.
So we lose the ability to feel our power. To really feel it.
My children, are for sure, some of my best teachers in life. They are like magnifying glasses. They certainly make things clearer and you get to see many different parts of yourself. They also have no filter, they are very clear about how they feel and how they express it. When you have kids, you see how real life is, there is no sugar coating with them. They just tell it like it is.
For sure, we have a role as educators, for our children. It's just important to let them ask about certain things when they are ready. To not try and plant too many ideas in their heads. Let them learn by observation, by exploration. Let them discover learning for themselves and that way, they get to have a greater understanding of how best they can learn. Setting them up to have the confidence to take charge of their own lives. Which is very powerful indeed.
That is a wonderful conversation! If only all children could feel their power, the power of the two suns, the power in their hands. We unteach our children these things when they ask, because we (most of us, not you) have lost all knowledge of it. We think we are pretty helpless now, really. That we have to go into debt, that we have to pay taxes, that we have to go to college, etc. Power is discounted. Of course, if we all knew our power, we could not be subjugated. Great parenting my love!! Thank you for allowing your daughters to know how to listen to themselves.

This was the problem my ex and I always had, she had her ways and tried to push them on the kids. I liked to let them explore and be kids and push them to learn on their own. It was always a losing battle and I hated it. She was a keep them inside person and I was a play in the dirt with them dad. I wish things could have been different when they were smaller, you're very lucky to have girls as bright as you do. A sun power feeler has a bright future ahead of her. (pun) No seriously if she feels power already she will go far if allowed to fully explore and harness what she can as she grows.

Indeed and where most of the immunities come from as well. The Earth does so much for the human body, if people just spent more time in nature we'd survive so much longer.
It is beautiful that children can trust and discover their power, as she says, that which comes from within, from what we are. I think she has connected very well with mother earth and that is wonderful. I wish more parents could make their children discover their inner power. It is a beautiful reflection in every sense that you have here.
It is extremely difficult to discover our power, I think it is something that each of us manages to understand when we are older or at least I thought so. Your daughter shows that she is a very sensitive being with a really wonderful creative capacity, it is necessary to encourage this discovery in our children, the inner power, their abilities and skills. Congratulations to your daughter and to you because you are doing a good job.
This is beautiful <3 What wisdom for a six-year-old. For anyone, really. Too many grown-ups walk oblivious to their power, and their relationship with the sun,so it's wonderful your girls know it and embrace it. <3

I think sometimes kids seems (and feels) things as they are: simple and connected.
All kids are like this, it's just so much gets lost as they grow up and some are forced to grow up way to early unfortunately xx
