In case you are new around here, Tribaldex is the primary exchange for the Hive-Engine ecosystem, and they have just done some major UI and performance upgrades to the platform. Now to preface this post, I am not a Hive-Engine developer, but I am one of the top witnesses for the side chain, so in effort to fulfill my witness duties, I want to share this update with you all.
The new interface is clean, modern, and sleek if you ask me. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I logged in and saw the new updates for the first time. They aren't major changes, but the fact that they are bringing the UI into more of a modern look is showing that there is development going on and that things are far from being dead on the Hive-Engine side chain.
When you click on the 'Trade' menu item, it takes you directly into the market page where you can select the token you want to trade.
The 'Swap' item replaced the 'Pools' menu which makes WAY more sense for what it is. I also like now that they have SWAP.HIVE as the other base token in the pairing so it makes it just that much faster to swap tokens.
The token select window overlays as before, but it's just a cleaner look and feel in my personal opinion.
Some of the best changes, in my opinion of course, happened on the Offerings page which now shows all of the different 'smart contract' options that are offered on the Hive-Engine side chain and a brief description. Many of these can be deployed without having to know a single line of code, which is quite lovely, but you will need some BEE in your wallet to pay for the activation of these contracts.
So with this new updated interface, it is a bit more clear on what you can do as far as getting the tools you need to get your Hive-Engine based project off the ground. One thing I would suggest to the team would be to add some kind of pricing list so that people know what to expect to pay in terms of BEE token fees to get these contracts going.
Another nice update was to the OpenHive NFT marketplace. This marketplace brings all the different Hive-Engine based NFT marketplaces all into one spot, so you are not having to go out and look at every different outpost if you are wanting to search for your next NFT.
In the wallet section, there are a couple of things I want to draw your attention to. One is the Pending Withdrawals tab. This can be a great reference to watch your withdrawals if there are any issues going on with that service. Sometimes things get stuck and this can be a great way to track to make sure your transaction is still in process so you don't come into the Hive-Engine discord and start screaming that someone is scamming you.
Another cool addition was the option to show the USD value of your tokens with stake and delegation included, or not. This is a cool option to help you get a better idea of the full value of your Hive-Engine portfolio. This also helps the sorting in your wallet so that you can see your most valued holdings first instead of having to search through the sea of tokens that have been dropped on you. Also the other action buttons have the new themed look and feel which is just nice in my opinion.
As far as performance goes, I have seen some increasing in the speed of certain actions like swaps and just overall page loading, which is a big help. Hopefully the team has gotten some of the server and API issues taken care of so that things run more smoothly in the future and we don't have so much downtime happening with the exchange.
What do you think of the new updates to Tribaldex? Let me know in the comments and I may pass off some suggestions to the team in our private Witness chat!
While you are there, make sure to stop by the Witness page and give me a vote with your WORKERBEE stake! If you don't have some WORKERBEE tokens, you might look into getting some, it is the 'Hive Power' of the Hive-Engine side chain and gives you not only governance voting, but also is a miner token for BEE!
I am hoping now that the outpost UI sees some of the new cool updates. As someone who manages 2 different outpost front ends, it would be nice to see some more modern updates to the look and feel, because they all really look outdated at this point and is a turnoff to new users. This is coming from feedback I have received from outside people that I have tried to onboard through BlockTunes or Hivelist. They say the UI needs to be modernized for sure, so hopefully now that the team has gotten Tribaldex updated, we may start seeing some updates to those outposts! That's just some constructive feedback from me to the team!
Until next time...

So, whatever happened to all the Steem Engine coins? By the grace of better men than I, I was able to extract my Steem, but the process was convoluted and the SE tokens were completely different, so there they sit to this day.
Thanks!
They shut down the Steem Engine side of things a while back, like close to a year ago I think at this point. Any community that was worth anything moved over to Hive after the fork.
It's looking pretty spiffy—I like it.
Yeah, it's been nice seeing some new development going on.
MY GOD... there is actually development of hive-engine happening?
It's been a long time coming... I wonder if this is part of the attempt to completely sunset hive-engine.com in favour of tribaldex.
I know right? LOL. That is why I put out the post, haha. I was excited to see some updates. I am thinking that it is part of the plan really. Once that happens, I would love to see some feature and UI updates to the outposts. The one thing I want to see is unlockable text for NFTs on the outpost NFT marketplaces. Would actually give these NFTs some utility.
