RE: A great new tool to analyze Hive Engine tokens

in #hive6 days ago

I think that with Hive-engine we have actually quite an acceptable solution that links us also with other blockchains. There are some things that I would love to see changed like being able to give up minting authority like you can do on Solana for example. But otherwise Hive-engine is quite battle tested, even though a lot of tokens have disappeared on the road.

I think that the VSC project will fulfill one major role which is to link hive to other evm chains. I honestly don't know how far things are evolved but I'm not sure that VSC will be able to fill the place of HE anytime soon, the way I understand what they are working on.

Do you mean the centralized system that HE employs?

I'd be curious to know what you believe lacks in VSC compared to HE. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I don't think that VSC lacks anything compared to HE. What I mean is that it will take time for VSC to build and test everything. Hive-engine has definitely an issue with centralisation, especially when it comes to transfer to and from other blockchains. At the moment it's at least a solution that we have that doesn't require to go over CEX's. I'm looking forward to be able to go over VSC for that. Once WBTC is implemented on VSC, we will have this gateway and I'm looking forward to it :-)

Hive-Engine offers the possibility to create tokens without needing to write a single line of code. It offers a DEX for these tokens and liquidity pools. I haven't read anywhere that VSC plans to implement that. I think that there is space for both L2 solutions but I'd love to see such features implemented on VSC as well.

Totally understand, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. DEX is something we plan on deploying fairly soon after the mainnet launch for Hive-HBD. Community token creation and what not is planned, but it's a longer term goal that we have to work on to build the standards and technology required to make that happen. Though, we are moving fast and hope we can get to it as quickly as possible! :)

Okay, thank you for sharing your perspective on this with me, @achim03. I still have plenty to learn, so at some point maybe I will find an L2 token on Hive Engine which looks like a worthwhile investment.

I know from experience that on hive and in the crypto world in general, there is always something to learn :-)

talked about this, in my feed, I now see this:Yes, no doubt of that, @achim03. Having just

"Breaking: VSC Mainnet Soft Launch Date Confirmed!"

Where we find, in the FAQs:

"Token support is possible via VSC smart contracts in a similar fashion to how they are done on Ethereum, Solana, etc.."

"We do not support any kind of bridging or migration from HE to VSC at this time."

You and others know more about the market inside Hive. We'll find out together soon enough what the movement of $$s indicates about the demand for an alternative to Hive Engine.

Interesting times!
