RE: Time for a HIVE break + powerdown.

in #hive4 years ago

There will always be maximizers there depending on the way the blockchain and it's current set of rules allow it, not everyone will join them and not everyone will forget who they are but there's not much to do about it than to either join them or wait for finetuning of the rules. The latter makes things more and more complex or goes back a step into linear where we then have to again make sure this won't turn into a bid bot fest like it was before - although with the recent downvote mana addition and after having noticed how much better trending and content discovery is I think we're in a better position to avoid most votes turning into sold votes again.

The thing is these people won't care that they're maximizing, some of them also like being petty and take it more steps further while hiding their true intentions, identity or other factors that would make it obvious what they're doing, it's up to us to not go down the same path as them and remember later which side they stood on during the history of steem and hive and how much they did to help the platform get to where it will be. Many of these will of course not be around, they may sell at the next pump cycle or lose some of their powers or face to use hive again - like we've seen with some other prominent influencers who quietly left after they vocally defended the sun. Anyway, not sure where I'm going with this comment, but I hope you reconsider selling out of your stake completely and just focus on your own communities and hopefully find other ways to reward the users you want to reward without having to reward the maximizers. Until then I hope the platform will adapt to make the playing field more fair for us manual curators who for some reason keep being stubborn and sticking to it even with the big disadvantages our way. :)

There will always be maximizers ...

Right, I am aware of that, and it annoys me that the system makes it so easy. But what annoys me most is that these maximizers pretend to be the saviours of the platform! They try to make it appear as if people like me would be maximizing their profits only because I for example decided to support authors by upvoting their comments instead of their posts. Just check the different daily rewards in relation to the owned stake and then decide who are the real maximizers.

if he talks at all). Couldn't he first think about what for example the sense (and benefits for HIVE) of such a soccer competition like I am doing could be? Couldn't he inform himself, that the 100 % upvotes are the rewards for hard work, for winning a matchday? And that exactly these upvotes motivate HIVE users a lot to take part and get active on the blockchain?Furthermore, I wonder why this @usainvote first shots and then talks (

Are we here on HIVE all working against each other or have a common aim?

Usain Bolt (you gotta admit the name Usain Vote is clever) is a sprinter, not a chess player. So it makes sense that they shoot first and then gone.
