I checked hiveblocks.com today and looked for the exact date and time I created my Hive account. It reads 2020-10-10 19:23:33 which means I've had this account for thousands of days, 1,444 days to be exact or 52 moons, which is a very strange way of calculating age if you ask me. Does anyone know why we use this strange time measurement?
My first account was actually @recording-box which I started in April 2019 to share live sessions recorded in my studio, so I actually own one of these babies
Anyway, I've been storing text on an immutable database that is HIVE for 2 million minutes. Some of those minutes I've spent making blog posts about being an entrepreneur in the creative space: recording music, dialogue, podcasts, foley, audiobooks, and creating 2D as well as 3D animations for clients. Other minutes, I've spent showing others how to use freedom tools built on the HIVE blockchain and what problems they help solve, other minutes I've spent spilling my thoughts with no real goal other than to use this distributed and immutable database and in doing so, create awareness and accumulate a bit of Hive Power for myself.
In these 206 weeks I've been using the HIVE blockchain, I've accumulated a total of 77,676 Hive Power. 54,254 of my own Hive Power + 25,139 HP I received from my recording studio's account - 1,716 HP that I've delegated to others.
While I'm not really celebrsting a milestone, I do think accumulating 34,656 hours of using this amazing ecosystem is a privilege and here is ONE out of many reasons: Every word I add to the blockchain earns me a tiny bit of cryptocurrency which I add to my existing cryptocurrency stack and it grows by 3.17% per year just by holding it in my account. It may not seem like much, but of you take into account that I'm adding about 600HP every month by creating content and voting on content I find interesting, useful and/or entertaining, you'll see that I'm actively working towards one of my goals, which is to accumulate 230,000 HP by the year 2030 and I'm harnessing the power of compounding to do it.
You know what they say about compounding, right?

I might be completely wrong and I might be holding a worthless bag in 2030, but with everything being built on the HIVE blockchain, I'm willing to take my chances. With Hive at a couple of bucks ($4.2069?) I could have a nice chunk of change to change my family's life. Worst case scenario I'll be able to use the #freedomtools on HIVE to fight censorship and gatekept social media.
Only 63 months stand between me and December 31st 2029. I'm going to spend some of that time here, on this blockchain, learning, teaching, sharing and doing everything I can to make this blockchain ecosystem better. Hey! with a little bit of nerdiness, I might even be able to build a business here, but we'll see.
Congratulations, I like how you balanced the worst care scenario with the best. We need some sort of middle ground when building.
Although a lot of shiny projects have come and gone and Hive is still here.
I'm bullish on HIVE as a freedom ecosystem. There are many tools we can use right now to send and receive value in a trustless, decentralized, peer-to-peer way. I believe that when more people value this, they will come to HIVE and one of the inevitable effects will be price appreciation.
I could be wrong though.
Congratulations, best of luck
Thanks! will I see you in 2030?
Congratulations 🎉I wish you the best in the days ahead of you
Only 1927 days to go!
Congrats. We can measure these things any way we want. I tend to thing in years and it's been a few already. Keep building. I think Hive matters as it is doing something different and powerful.

You're absolutely right!
Fun fact: did you know NASA planning a manned landing in 2026? Well, it's true, and because of that, a lunar-based time system called Coordinated Lunar Time, abbreviated as LTC, is being developed. The aim is to create LTC as the "international standard" for time tracking, so we might be measuring time in moons sooner than I thought! ha!

BEER
from @alex-rourke for you. Enjoy it!We love your support by voting @detlev.witness on HIVE .
A big congratulations to you. You have really come a long way on this platform and this is great to see because it must have required consistency along the way
It HAS come from a certain level of consistency. I can't say I've been active every day, but there are different forms of consistency.
This is consistency:
But this is also consistency:
It’s cool how you’re using Hive to reach your goals. The power of small steps really adds up over time. I’m excited to see where it takes you, big congrats brother
The Hive ecosystem is a collection of super powerful tools! You can use them in many different ways for many different purposes. I intend to further incorporate these #freedomtools into my business and if I'm consistent, I believe I can achieve wonderful things; anybody can.
You'll certainly achieve great things with your business brother
Congratulations on hive anniversary and I like your long term approach on hive. It's a great plan you have. Good luck
Thank you very much! I've been watching all the presentations from Hive Fest 2024 and I'm super bullish on everything being developed on this platform. Things are already looking amazing today, imagine in 10 years!
Impressive accomplishment. Congratulations. Your great content, valuable curation, engagement and contributing to a decentralized ecosystem are things that are worth celebrating. I wish you the best as you look forward to achieving your remaining goals by 2030. Congrats again
It's just a measure of time in this case. I hope to continue adding value to Hive citizens and continue building this amazing ecosystem. I'm pretty early in my journey, but I intend to get there and enjoy the process. See you in 2030.
Impressive numbers. Congrats on your progress and all the best on your way towards that epic 2030 goal :)

Thanks friend! but we're just getting started. I'm at 27.8% of my goal, so I've got quite a ways to go still, but I'm working on it.
Celebrating 52 Moons, Amazing. Congratulations, you have become a precious hiver
All Hive citizens are important! But those who have a long-term outlook, come here to add value and have skin in the game have a special place in my heart.
Do people still use moons for keeping time? I think the last time I've heard of it used was in movies depicting folklore. Your post on compounding interest is one of the reasons why I shifted my investment strategies. I do hope we get rewarded in our belief in Hive.
I do believe we'll get rewarded for believing in a protocol that works very well as a system to exchange value in a fast, free, decentralized way that is out of reach of governments and corporations.
If you're willing to give it time, you'll see that blockchain technology might reach a larger number of "early adopters" in this coming bull run, but in the next one, we'll very likely see inflow from the early majority. We'll know when we have crossed the chasm.
Mass adoption is on it's way.
I think I've seen this before, not just in your post, but in other media as well. BTC is already in the mainstream market, and Hive in the early market. I agree that as long as we position ourselves well and people continue to build on Hive, we should be good.
Congratulations
Thank you.
Happy Hive Birthday @alex-rourke

Thank you great Arcange, I'll be here for many more years and definitely at Hive Fest one day!
See you there.
