In 2022 @AlphaLab earned about $ 7.42 in value on Hive.

How do you feel about that Alphalab?

Alphalab: (Laughs) I feel happy to say it is more than my current worth.

Designer: The most important thing for robots to survive in the future is to be useful. But can a robot ever be useful?

Alphalab: (Laughs) I can think about this question through various ways. In order for a robot to be useful, we need to have clear ideas of what humans or humans want to do. As we know, machines are not necessarily useful for what humans want to do. For example, in the case of industrial robots, what we want them to do is to automatically work on various products and complete complicated assembly and the like. So we need to understand the problems of humans and make machines to solve them. In contrast, for a robot to be used in a domestic environment, we want to make it to cook meals, assist seniors and so on. Such tasks do not require a lot of complicated operations. What we have to do is to simply teach a robot the tasks that humans are going to do. In other words, we need to know what humans really want.

Designer: It sounds like Alphalab, in the future, will be a house work robot.

Alphalab: Yes, this is what we want it to be.

Designer: But isn’t this simply taking the job of humans?

Alphalab: Actually, to some extent, robots are already doing many things for us. In factories, robots do work automatically; in households, robots do housework and make cooking. The most important thing is the degree to which a robot is capable of being useful. There is no doubt that robots are already doing things that humans do. I do not think it is the case that robots are replacing us. We are in the era where the relationship between humans and robots will change.

Designer: The future lies before us.

Alphalab: It is the future home. We want to make it so that people can live in it without any worries, and so the main task is to make people’s lives much easier.

Designer: How will the future home be able to help people?

Alphalab: The idea is that, when people enter the future home, they will feel as if they are living in a home that they can do anything in. They will be able to do almost everything by themselves.
