There were a couple of posts a while back on Hive. I made a post a while back about delegations. Here is the post I made!
https://peakd.com/hive-123585/@ambiguity/to-power-up-or-not-to-power-up-that-is-the-question
Well, since then I got all the delegation back from the big communities, that most of the time, never know you exist until you delegate or, in my case undelegated, I wanted to see if I could do something with my HP and keep it to myself. I still delegate to the communities I am a part of and I get some upvotes on the posts I make. It is small and it helps others in that community and I like that it helps not just me but many of my friends here on Hive.
I went to Hive.vote and jumped on some of the known curation trails to me. I also went and set up a vote on some of the bigger channels that make good rewards on their post and I get in on the vote early enough and I make a little curation there also. I also get out on my blog and do some upvoting of posts manually.
Have you figured what that one ingredient is yet?
It is work! You have to read blog posts and you have to set up Hive.vote the way you want it and stay on it so you can make the most out of the HP that you have.
I know the reason most people just delegate is that they do not have the time to manually vote on posts. We all have a lot going on in everyday life, I am helping work on cars that we find cheap to resell and make a little extra cash, the wife's project! I am still working on getting things ready to get on the road. I get up early every morning and do not get done sometimes till 8 or 9 at night. If it is daylight I like to take advantage of the light we get this time of year. I run to get parts or things we need when it is in the hottest part of the day.
All I am saying is that with a little work, for me it is about an hour or so every night, and make a post every couple or three days. You will have the same amount, if not more in curation every day. I delegated 800 HP to one community and made about 0,037 Hive every day. I make about the same but many days more than that by doing it myself. I then know who I am upvoting and if they produce the kind of content I want to upvote. Not a big community upvoting whales to get curation and make money off of your HP.
Think about this and see if you can do the same thing, Yes it will take some work on your part but I believe you will be happier knowing who and what content you are voting on every day. Just some food for thought there, I hope each and every one of you has a great day/night, whatever it is in your neck of the woods!
If you have some open witness votes, would you do me a favor and vote for our veteran witnesses on Hive. Here they are!
Thank you so much if you do as I am sure they will appreciate your support for them as a Hive witness!

Good to see you focusing. I donthe same thing. I have a couple trails designed specifically for curating and there's me that votes on stuff could be 7 days old, just to show support😎Glad your ducks are lining up🦆🦆🦆🦆

The key there is "lining up". Not there yet but getting there.
I just hope more users would understand that.
It seems like Hive is just a replay of Steem in many ways.
Some users still do not understand!

We forked out individual sales of votes, when do we fork out those that sell them wholesale?
Delegation is vote selling.
If you don't have time to vote your stake, that is good for those that do.
I get that some users think that delegation is the way to go.
That is fine if they want to do that! I just think that using Hive.Vote is a better way to go, as then you know who you are voting and you trust their content. I think it puts you more in control of how your HP is used.
I guess it is all about how people want to use their HP and if they want to control who and what content it votes on.
