What Are Nanotechnology and Nanoparticles...? How We Synthesized The Nanopartices From Plant Leaf Extract...?

in #hive2 years ago (edited)

Nanotechnology is the branch of science which deals with the study of materials at a nanoscale, typically between 1 and 100nm. Nanotechnology has become one of the fastest growing technologies due to it's potential applications in every field of life especially in medical field for cancer detection.
Nanopartices are regarded as the fundamental building block of nanotechnology and have a wide range of applications in different industries. Nanopartices are also used in the synthesis of number of products which we used on daily basis such as water-filteration system, toothpaste, cosmetics etc.

How Can We Prepare The Nanoparticles.....?

We can prepare nanopartices through the three methods:

  1. Chemical synthesis of nanoparticles
  2. Physical synthesis of nanoparticles
  3. Green synthesis/ Biosynthesis of nanoparticles

Out of them green synthesis of nanopartices is the most cost-effective and eco-friendly approach. Green synthesis of nanopartices means synthesize the nanoparticles through plant extract .
As am botanist, so our all work relyed on the plant and Green synthesis of nanoparticles using leaf extract of Azadirachta indica (Neem) and characterization of their anti-oxidant activity is my research topic in M.S.
Our lab work started after the approval of synopsis, but from the couple of months we were free in home so we decided to perform our some of lab activities as a trial, so that we find out the solution of difficulties which we faced.
So let's see how we synthesize the nanoparticles from the plant extract:
Apparatus Required For The Green Synthesis Of Nanopartices:

  • Beaker
  • Magnetic Hotplate
  • Burette
  • Whatman's filter paper no.1

Materials

  • Fresh leaves of desired plant ( as in mine case it was the leaves of Azadirachta indica).
  • Distilled Water

Chemical:

  • Silver nitrate (AgNO3).

Procedure:
So for the green synthesis of nanoparticles first i got the 25g of fresh leaves of my plants, washed them with distilled water and cut into the little pieces.

After this, i set the temperature of magnetic hot plate at 80°C temperature & take 100 ml of water in the beaker + add the leaves pieces into it and put on the hot plate to get the leave extract.

For getting the leaf extract we filtered this solution through filter paper and allow to cool then we take another beaker and make the solution of 20mg of silver nitrate and then we titrate the plant extract and thus solution. And finally the solution color turns into brownish yellow which indicates the synthesis of nanopartices.

You got easy plant yet complex topic for research. I remember how my fellows made crafts of this what'sman, paper lol. Don't you have to perform confirmatory test as I think this experiment is half .

Arghhh I have been writing the same comment for the 5th time, ecency and peakd both are malfunctioning for me today .

Yes plant is easy plus our topic is Also easy as compared to our other fellows , yes we only did the synthesis of nanopartices and then never gone back to the university, will continue it after Ramadan. Why ecency and peaks did malfunctioning with you😁💔

Ok will be in the next time.

@ayesha-malik myry sath dhukka howa ha. Mujhy laga ramazan my pudiny ky juice ki recipe ho gi. xD

Hehe well scientist ko esy kam krny sy he sitara e imtiaz milta hy lol.
