If you visit the seashore of course you will see 3 things that can not be separated, among others,
- Boats, boats and other means of transportation for fishermen
- Sea water, fish, seagulls, and other biota on the seabed.
- Land or coast, wave barriers, estuaries, and other components that support the creation of the edge of the atmosphere.
Well, in this case I will invite all of you, namely Hive friends who have just joined this new platform, to explore any relation related to the ocean and its banks.
In this post I intentionally uploaded a picture of a traditional fishing boat that we often encounter on almost every beach in Indonesia. Maybe for friends whose countries do not have the ocean or where they live far from the beach. So this is the time to find out what are the links above.
But before we go deeper into it, I have to explain again what a fishing vessel is and how it is connected with sea views and precisely.
Fisherman wooden/ tradisional boat
If you go to one of the European countries and when you go to the seashore, of course you will find a group of large and sophisticated ships standing in line along the coast but you do not find a traditional wooden boat. If there are of course very few and even then not all exist.
But it is different if you are in the territory of Indonesia, of course, when you visit the seashore always meet with traditional wooden boats.
Well, that's where Indonesia is different from other countries, because the country of Indonesia itself is still thick with its culture, especially on the beach, of course certain characteristics will be seen like you see some traditional wooden boats placed on the coast far away by the sea or water.
Of course, in this case information is still stored that to search for fish is not necessarily with sophisticated equipment, but by using simple equipment the fish in the ocean can also be obtained without difficulty.
If you see and consider the traditional small wooden boat, of course you are very afraid of being hit by high waves when in the middle of the sea.
The small boat is indeed made of wood and is very small with the capacity of two people to carry out fishing operations in the middle of the ocean. But don't worry because this wooden boat has been equipped with some equipment to anticipate high waves, and in this case requires a reliable and smart crew to sail the deep and choppy seas.
The small boat which is 4 meters long and about 1.6 meters wide is a size that is suitable for the condition of its crew and the Indonesian ocean.
Then the wooden boat was equipped with two supports located on two sides, the left side of the right fan, for the local community, said as Katie Kayee with a length of 3 meters and a width of almost 5 meters attached to both the left and right sides of the boat.
The purpose of these two bamboo supports is to balance big and small waves in anticipation of big waves for the ship so they don't sink. Even if water enters the boat but the boat will not sink because the cross section will follow the waves from the swing of water or big waves, and will always lift to the surface of the water.
Timber support will be installed when descending into the sea while accelerating operations in the deep sea. Then the ship is equipped with a small engine that matches the size of the ship's strength itself. In addition, the big screen with a size 5 times larger than the size of the ship will also complete the journey into the ocean when fishing in the open sea.
From ancient times traditional fishermen until now very rarely drowned in the sea due to large waves, and most of these traditional fishermen are very rarely drowned or anything else that can destroy the wooden boat.
This is caused by the design or model of a wooden boat in accordance with the state of the waves themselves. And the traditional fisherman are very reliable in catching fish and in navigating the waves of any size.
The ocean and the conditions in it
When we talk about the ocean, of course it takes a long time to find out the contents or biota in the ocean. However, for these traditional communities, they have good knowledge in reading the ocean they are exploring, they are able to memorize the state of the ocean and the contents in it.
They are very familiar if they are in an area, for example when they are on the west side with the size of the coast about 1 mile away and by looking at the color of the water and other conditions they know the depth of the water and every fish that often plays and know when the flock will come fish and when fish activities take a rest.
They know by looking at the color of the water that many herds of fish in large numbers. Because in general sea water as blue or green, well, when they see the sea water changes color as usual then they know that certain areas have a herd of fish.
Even though rain and strong winds are happening, the existence of the herd of fish will always be known by the traditional fishermen. Because the shape of the water when bubbling with a different color with the state of the water around the fish companion.
Even when it rains the herd will be more easily seen in the ocean, because in general when it rains the herd will enjoy the white water droplets so that it attracts the attention of the fish to go above the surface of the water.
Well ... When the small fish are enjoying the raindrops which penetrate into the ocean, the small fish will gather in large numbers so that the big fish will automatically go to the surface to prey on the small fish.
Then the moment is used by traditional fishermen to anchor with their trawlers or special nets in catching big fish so that all big fish will be trapped in the trawlers of traditional fishermen.
