I wonder if their Tron integration is the same as what they introduced for Steem. If so I have little interest of using MetalPay for Hive since I have no interest in derivative products that don't allow me to withdraw.
The MetalPay deal was one of the last things that I worked on for Steemit, Inc. and even visited the MetalPay offices a week before I left the company to work for another crypto project. The goal was full integration and withdrawals but these deals need to be worked.
Agreed. I would be very supportive if they followed through on the original plan of full integration. I just had higher expectations from their initial announcement last year that they would have played a larger role as a convenient on-ramp already.
As a suggestion for a service that I would personally use with Hive adoption is General Bytes ATMs. They are the second largest deployed crypto atms in the world and I know I would personally add support for Hive and I'm sure other operators would as well. The best part is that we'd only need development for that kind of integration to be available. The platform is open source so once the development is set we could open Hive to over 2,000 in person locations.

It will be interesting to see how decentralized deal making happens on Hive.
