RE: Not sure if it's the platform or the people

in #hive10 months ago

I used to feel that way about my content. I think when you invest that much time and effort into something it's only natural to expect at least some kind of growth or recognition. Clearly the effort was lacking on this persons part although they probably denied that fact. There are still some people on here that make quite a bit more than me and they have been here less time or the same amount. I'd be lying if I said it didn't bug me a little, but I don't go crying about it everywhere. I recently started to upvote pretty much every comment that I reply to. It's not much, but I worked hard to find the right balance so I can do that every day and not blow my VP out of the water. It's my way of letting them know I appreciate their interaction and though it's often small, it adds up over time.

It can't always be equal or fully fair as you mentioned that some others may make more, it's the same on my posts for instance, there may be newcomers or others who earn more than my posts and quite consistently but it doesn't mean it will always stay that way or that they get the same benefits from the platform in other ways over time.

I also understand the sentiment of "having made it" then aiming for more because if you aren't getting more upvotes and rewards it feels like you're falling off, but that's something that stake is there to help you balance it out. I've had times my posts were top rewarded daily for many weeks in a row and times were there were barely any autovotes or any interactions, if I had stayed powered up or even kept half of the rewards staked all this time it sure would've made up for the lack of post rewards in curation rewards which many like to not think about. It can't always be constant and "only up".

Yeah, that is a good point. Like I said, I can't complain about my post rewards. I had a run there where I was doing very very well, but then I got muted by a ranchero and another account. Oh well, crap happens! I'm just working on building my stake so the curation rewards can really make a difference. Problem is I keep delegating my HP away to projects like Zing!

seems like he likes to mute many
