The DHF and AI Use on Hive: Let’s Talk About Fairness and Progress

in #hiveyesterday

Hey Hive community,
I’m writing this post because I feel it’s time we address some issues that are starting to feel like roadblocks for innovation and creativity on this platform. Recently, I faced a downvote and criticism for allegedly using AI in my content creation process. While I understand that Hive values originality and human creativity, I think we need to have a serious conversation about how DHF funds, AI use, and downvoting culture are affecting creators and innovators on Hive.

What is DHF Supposed to Be?
The Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) exists to fund projects, proposals, and initiatives that improve the ecosystem. It’s supposed to be a community-driven resource to support innovation and reward contributions. But here’s the problem:

Subjectivity Rules: Decisions about what gets funded—or even who gets downvoted—sometimes seem less about the proposal’s merit and more about personal biases.
Limited Transparency: The downvoting of proposals or content can sometimes feel arbitrary, with little explanation or accountability. If Hive’s governance model is about empowering the community, where’s the clear communication?
Are We Stifling Innovation?: Criticizing creators for using AI seems counterproductive. Tools like AI are part of the future, and instead of rejecting them, we should focus on how they can empower content creators on Hive.
Why Target AI Creators?
Let’s face it: AI is a tool. Whether it’s used for brainstorming ideas, writing drafts, or even creating art, AI doesn’t replace human creativity—it enhances it. Here are some points to consider:

Creativity in the Age of AI: Using AI doesn’t mean I’m not creative. It’s like using a camera to take a photo or Photoshop to enhance it. AI is a tool that helps us do more, faster.
Gatekeeping Stifles Growth: If Hive’s community becomes a gatekeeper that rejects innovation or new approaches, how will we attract new creators and users?
Focus on Quality: Downvotes shouldn’t be about the tools used, but the quality of the content produced. If the content adds value, who cares if AI played a role?
What Needs to Change?
To truly make Hive a thriving platform for creators and innovators, here’s what I believe we should work on:

Clear Guidelines on AI Use: Hive needs a transparent, community-driven policy on AI. Let’s embrace it as a tool and set clear boundaries to maintain fairness and originality.
Accountability in DHF and Downvotes: There should be better communication when downvotes are issued, especially by large stakeholders. If content or proposals are rejected, creators deserve detailed feedback.
Encourage Innovation: The world is moving forward with AI, decentralized tools, and new tech. Hive must be at the forefront of embracing change, not fighting it.
Respect Creators: Whether someone uses AI, traditional methods, or a mix of both, what matters most is the value they bring to the community. Judging based on methods instead of outcomes only alienates creators.
Call to Action
Hive is an incredible platform with so much potential, but we can’t afford to alienate creators or stifle innovation. Let’s have an open discussion about the role of DHF, the use of AI, and how we can make Hive a place where creativity thrives, rather than being policed or suppressed.

What do you think? Let’s talk in the comments and figure out a way forward—together.

If you want to see things change in the management of the hive, you have to buy more hive.

O yea sure ill think about it..... Wow and your title states "when society enslaves you", wtf you think is happening here. Im not buying more i bought almost 18k, look o look i got diluted on an open embracing innovation chain that is run by incompetent people, self enrichment is whats goin on here, just wait until there is no more to sell to. People will see or i will wake them up, you touched the wrong guys toe.

wtf you think is happening here.

I see grown ass adults voluntarily playing in a complicated, nuanced game and when they finally do the math, and learn the reality of the rules, they don't like it much.
It's a function of realizing that they were wrong and now don't like the taste that created in their mouths.

IF you don't like the rules of the game, either stop playing, or play by the rules until you can change the rules.
It's not impossible, afaik.
We'd be closer now, but folks like quitting more than they like persevering.
It's a sign of the times, I guess.

they touched the wrong guys foot...

DHF: Decentralized Hive Fund or Decentralized Hive Flop?
Alright, Hive, let’s cut the niceties. I recently faced a downvote on my content—because gasp I dared to use AI tools. Seriously? This is 2025, not the dark ages. If I want to use every tool at my disposal to create, innovate, or simply write a freaking post, why is that a problem?

The DHF exists to fund innovation, right? To push Hive forward, not pull it back. But here we are, where decisions feel like they’re based on personal grudges and outdated thinking. Here’s the kicker: this time, I didn’t even use AI. It was a good old-fashioned copy-paste. So what’s the real problem—AI, or people looking for excuses to gatekeep creativity?

Let’s be real:

If Hive wants to grow, it needs to embrace innovation, not stifle it.
If DHF is going to act like judge, jury, and executioner, at least explain your decisions. Accountability, anyone?
And if using tools like AI is a problem, maybe we need a reality check. The rest of the world isn’t stopping for Hive to play catch-up.
So here’s my message: let’s stop pretending like this is about "originality" or "quality" and admit it’s about control. Hive can’t thrive if it keeps alienating creators and innovators.

Feel free to downvote this too—I’m not here to play nice. I’m here to point out what’s broken and ask why we’re not fixing it.

Dont you dare to use it for your conveniences you can DM me and we can talk, im so done with this nonsense 🤡 Keep your tiny group pull out of the DHF you think we dont see !!!! Diluting the reward pool you are really lost. I started to disassemble myself by exiting discords that no longer serve the greater good. Silly little humans.

#hive #yallsuck

DHF doesn't downvote anything, DHF does not have the ability to upvote or downvote anything.

Hey thx for stopping by, they can in a sort downvote a proposal as they can just ignore it and dont vote.

No one is obligated to vote for your proposal

No i know how it works and it shouldn't be an obligation...i just think its time for an overhaul, reroute some stuff to benefit the broader and more in line with future perspectives. The tech is massive🤠

its a disaster lol

Transparency? Is a foreign word in many areas at Hive. See Hivewatcher, spaminator and other accounts

Hey, ty yes looking for like minded. Its gettin out of control how they operate and than with self empowerment diggin in eachothers ass. I dont mind spreading this info a public. Im ready to hurt them maybe that changes one or another, decent but under the belt. Ive have given them enough time but they just sail the same direction. Now you see vibes blooming, its dobble trowing on top who gets the best votes, it gets me puking thinking about what could have been vs where we are atm. Really sad that we have incompetent people with a whale status and the worst is they got it for free and now dilute the system to build an downvote account and who knows what else as transparency is far fetched here, Its really messy.
