You Are Not Owed an Airdrop

Reading through some posts and complaints, there are still some, particularly those active on another similar blockchain, that are complaining about Hive. Their complaints basically come down to this: They think because they weren't given any Hive in the airdrop, their Hive was stolen, deleted, or otherwise taken from them.

Many, many people have tried to explain the situation to them in a clear, simple manner. The problem is the people complaining just don't seem willing to understand. It's as if someone tells them that a ball is round, and their reaction is to say, "But what shape is a ball?"

You are not owed an airdrop. It is something that is given to you freely, as long as you meet whatever the requirements of that particular airdrop are.

When the PAL token first came out I wasn't included in the airdrop. Why? I have no idea. I think maybe there was a certain SP threshold you had to meet at the time. Either way, I didn't go around saying the airdrop was taken from me. PAL tokens were a new thing. I didn't have any before the airdrop, and I didn't have any after. Instead, I went about learning how I could earn some.

Hive is a new thing. The Hive token is a new thing. The people complaining that their Hive was stolen from them because they weren't included in the airdrop never had any Hive to begin with, meaning they didn't have anything to steal or take in the first place.

Before the airdrop, those people had Steem. They still have Steem. Nothing was taken from them. They just weren't included in the airdrop. They didn't meet a certain set of criteria, so they weren't given a batch of free tokens. A batch of free tokens that were never owed to them.
