How to earn free upvotes 🤑

Since you are on Hive you are probably looking to get your slice of the reward pool, either by creating or curating content. You must not neglect the fact that engaging is equally important to earning Hive Power and increasing your vote value. Trust me, I know since I do everything I can do to earn HP ever since late-2017. I did not achieve over 70K HP by hoping and praying, it requires consistent action.
There are already a lot of users and content on Hive, that number is only going to go up from here. If you are looking to get noticed by me and want to receive upvotes, it really is easier to do than you might think. I imagine that many other users would react the same way as I do to the things that I will tell you about. It is not a promise that you will receive upvotes from other users, but I do know that all content creators like to see engagement, appreciation, and critique within their posts, so it is likely to happen.
These are the easy steps to get upvotes from me:
1️⃣ Make sure you are following @daltono.
2️⃣ Comment on my posts.
3️⃣ Connect your Twitter account to https://hiveposh.com/.
4️⃣ Tweet to inform your followers about my latest content and be sure to include a link to my post and use #hive.
5️⃣ Share your @poshtoken comment links in comments of the daily @ocd compilation posts.
I will always reply to and upvote your comments, the better the comment the higher % my vote will be. You also have a chance to get a nice upvote from the OCD curators and will earn free #POSH tokens just for tweeting out Hive links, tokens which are tradeable on https://tribaldex.com/.

What is stopping you❓
If you do all of these things, you will without a doubt receive upvotes from me. Others may notice and start interacting with you just from showing up in my comments. The easiest way for me to spread my vote is for new people to engage with my content and many others are struggling to find new people to vote for right now too.
I will be honest, I need all of the help that I can get to increase the reach of my posts. I also want to spread the awareness that Hive exists and that it can change lives like it did mine. This is why I think that connecting with new people and getting Hive content all over Twitter is vital!
Remember the fact that you can not only earn crypto here on Hive by posting and curating but also by commenting, which is looked at by the blockchain as a post of its own and it too will payout rewards after 7 days.
One thing to also keep in mind is that although a post will no longer earn rewards 7 days after it was originally posted, a new comment on an old post will still earn rewards that payout 7 days after that comment is made. The same goes for earning POSH and tweeting about older posts. These two things mean that engaging with older content will still allow you to earn rewards in the form of HP and POSH.
If you ever feel like you don't know what to post about, just comment on my work instead and you will receive rewards in return. An added bonus is that you may have an interesting conversation with me. Isn't being social and having freedom what we are here for in the first place? Hive is a revolutionary ecosystem, but all parts must work in unison for it to be a massive success.

I love to be creative and nothing sucks worse than spending a lot of time on something and then nobody actually getting to see it because it is buried under a pile of other posts.

Not sure what your exact issue is during the process. I only linked my account once and it was many months ago, hard for me to recall what can go wrong. I did not have any issues back then. I highly suggest that you join the OCD Discord (it is linked towards the end of this post) that is if you aren't already a member of course. You can have all of your answers about Posh Token answered there for certain.

If I had given up back when I wasn't finding much success towards the beginning, I'd still be working my hellish job for the gov. I'm so glad I powered through failures to find the place that I am now. I went from dreaming of having my life how it is, to actually having it.

Basically, you just sign up on https://hiveposh.com/ & connect your Twitter/Hive accounts. Then anytime you tweet a Hive post link and use #Hive, you have a chance to earn some POSH. It depends how much engagement your tweet gets on Twitter as to how much POSH you will earn. The POSH will show up in your Hive-Engine wallet. Are you familiar with that wallet? You can find it in the wallet section of PeakD.

I think so many of us are more worried about creating content rather than engaging. I love being creative, but I also enjoy being social. I think once we have more total users active each day, the issue of creators only creating will no longer be a problem. I think of most mainstream social media and the majority of the people I know never post anything and just consume consume consume. We need those people over here liking and commenting on all of their favorite things, at least then they'd get something in return instead of only entertainment.
Yeah I think LeoFinance is taking the right approach. There is definitely a lot of content creation but not so much content consumption. The LeoFinance desktop app is aimed at the creators, and the mobile app aimed at consumers. I'm more likely to scroll and consume content on mobile so it makes sense. People don't realize that they can be earning by consuming too.

I agree that the majority of my consumption is on mobile. That’s a big factor because many people consider their smartphone their main device. I’m lucky to also have a desktop, but even then I’m still scrolling on my phone quite often. Leo Finance is always doing big things. I would love a PeakD app more than anything. I believe Liketu is working on a mobile app. 3Speak mobile app would be amazing as well. So many wishes, just gotta have patience until everything is realized.

If you have a paid job outside if Hive, how do you manage to remain consistent?
The highest I have done is posting everyday for one month.
I had a paid job outside of Hive from 2017 to late 2021. This has been my first year not having another job outside of creating content on Hive.
During the times when I was working, it was never easy to remain consistent, but somehow I managed to make it through. I'd say the best advice I can give is to not be afraid to switch things up when you start feeling like you're getting burnt out.

This blog post is elaborate and very true for hive. Starting out could be hectic if one measures success by number of upvotes or dollar equivalent of post . That’s why i stick to engaging through comments and curating whales and dolphins. The appreciative vote of a dolphin or a whale is enough to get a newbie account started and rolling. well, just out of the blue I felt like adding some hivers to follow.. I wanted the more experienced (higher rep/HP) kind, and I chose and followed like 10 or so. I commented on all, but most did not respond to me so I gave up on em after a few tries. U definitely were the shining stand out that added to my hive career in so many ways..

It's not surprising that you didn't get much response if you choose to follow and comment on accounts based on their rep and HP. That is a classic newbie mistake and since you've been around for a long time you really should know better!
In real life you would want to make friends and mingle with those who have similar interest to you. You don't suddenly go and befriend the rich and famous for no apparent reason. The same applies on Hive.
Active engagement is great, effective engagement is even better!!
of course you are right.. that is how life works. except that I thought we are all hivers here and there is no real.. 'your group' or 'my group'. no 'newbie group or only dolphin or above club.
and also, i am happy that even a few of those initial 'high ranking' hivers that I tried to engage with, like daltono, HAVE allowed me to become their friend on hive and it's not that I stopped or removed any of the hiver 'newbies' I usually talk to. In fact, I enjoy helping and engaging with new hivers and don't mind if it takes time or results in lower curation or whatever..

Then whenever you go to tweet out a link for an article, use #Hive. Depending on how much engagement that tweet gets, you’ll earn POSH. You can find your POSH balance in your Hive-Engine wallet, which is easily accessible if you use PeakD.

I believe the same thing. lack of engagement author's content will not be recognized even if the author sharing a good content, it need to enagege with others regularly. Looking forward to see more such a ideas from you.
We have no way of forcing people to have a conversation, but it is nice when they decide to comment and say something. I am happy just to have people watch, but engagement goes a long way in my book.

Hey man, I'm getting ready to update my profile, pictures, bio, the background..and I was just wondering what size I should have my photos? I have Canva installed (I'm strictly a mobile user at the moment, no computer right now unfortunately) and I'm not sure if I should use a custom setting? or should I just go with the preset collage setting and photo edit settings?
I'd aim for these dimensions.
A square for your profile photo, one that crops circularly well is ideal. Then a super wide background because some people view things in full screen on desktop. You also want your background to look good on mobile though, so you kind of have to do something odd with the design like I did. These are the dimensions of my background.

Basically, if you import my profile background that I attached above into Union as your Background, then you can start adding your own items into the Foreground one by one. You just have to flatten the image to the Background each time you are finished with positioning it. Eventually, you will have all of my designs covered up and your own custom design in the exact dimensions that you need for your background. There is even a mask feature to erase certain parts of your image. Lots of tools to explore and surely there are videos out there to help you learn. It used to be my go-to app when I did everything on my smartphone.
