D.Buzz, short for (D)iscover the Buzz or (D) for Decentralized will allow Hive users to repost their Tweets to the HIVE blockchain automatically through our in-house verification system.
Our web application will be a true Hive-based blockchain DAPP, it will not integrate with the Steem blockchain, and we will not reconsider this so long as the Steem blockchain is under the control of @justinsuntron and/or the TRON Foundation.
HIVE users who verify their account will be able to repost their Tweets to the HIVE blockchain by doing nothing more than including the hashtags #HIVE, #DBuzz or the ticker $HIVE in the Tweets that they want republished to D.Buzz / Hive.
NOTE: There could be a delay of up to 10 to 30 minutes before Tweets are posted to the blockchain but as we develop and scale, we will work to make repost times faster.
Expect the announcement of our official launch before the end of next week, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Medium, Reddit, Discord, and get a sneak peak of some of the merchandise for marketing that we will be releasing in the future.
Discover the Buzz!
Oh damn, A few weeks ago I was talking about how nice it would be nice to have a twitter like blogging frontend on hive. Sweet!
Yes, we will be offering that @shmoogleosuikami 🙂
And I think it will open the door for more non-Blog social media DAPPs on the HIVE blockchain!
👍
Reading my mind. I would like to abandon Facebook and Hive-Only all together.
One step at a time @minerthreat 🙂
No doubt, and each step is greatly appreciated! Everywhere I look there's great work going into the Hive platform. I love it!
This is a great asset the chain was needing and longing. I'm really happy to see this one because I Tweet a lot. I have one question. How would you prevent spam on the chain using your app? I'm all in with the idea but maybe users may be limited to post a certain number of times in order to avoid spam? That's a little dart I'm throwing there but all in good faith. I so like this idea. Cheers!
This is an excellent question @jonsnow1983..
But I think for the most part, we should leave this to the experts who focus on curation and abuse like @ocdb, @hivewatchers, @spaminator, @guityparties among others.
I would like them to help us figure out how we can prevent abuse in a way that satisfies the community + their standards.
And I believe this should happen since IMO:
I don't like Twitter and I don't use it. Now I'll have to see a bunch of one liner posts on Hive? 🤨
This will probably lead to a lot of spam post farming. 🤔
I'm sorry, but I'm not thrilled with this, not even a little bit... 😔
The vast majority of content nowadays is short form. Downvotes were created to fight rewards disagreement. But to have people not post what they like in fear of it being considered spam that might get over rewarded will only serve to restrict Hive's growth. Let people post whatever they want, that’s the point, not everyone wants to read a long blog post.
Less important if the dbuzz ecoystem is built around its own tokens and those users focus upon the buzz rewards with Hive being secondary.
Until our project makes a considerable profit for an extended period of time, I will recommend against us issuing a token or SMT.
I am already happy w/us using the $HIVE token and I think there will be others like us who are interested in building solely on Hive without issuing their own token.
For certain projects, it only makes sense, and I think for us, building on HIVE without our own token, at least for the foreseeable future, makes sense.
Not being a great blogger drew me to Dlike, not too many people liked it and some front ends like Leo banned it. But I do agree that whatever brings more people is better.
A front end like LEO banning it is what is suppose to happen. Each tribe/application is individual and can choose what is shown. The Dlike posts were available both on chain (through Steemit and Steempeak) as well as through its own app.
Dbuzz might be blocked by many front ends too. That is fine. The Dbuzz users can access all that is posted through its interface and, I would believe, Hive.blog will post it.
It makes sense to me, It was pretty spammy.
Hopefully you'll have a better experience with us. I will personally be engaging on @dbuzz, not only to increase the engagement of others, but it will likely be my favorite Dapp since I like short form discussions 😀
Yeah, that's true @taskmaster4450, each front-end can choose how to form their site and can include or exclude any community or project that they like.
Having said that, we will try to be diplomatic and make it in the favor of the standard front-ends like Hive.Blog and @peakd to include us.
From a user experience perspective, I want people to be able to switch between our DAPP and others, in the same way that I often switch between Hive.Blog and @peakd.
Having options like that is a great experience!
Our posts will be limited to our community, and will not be posted to people's blogs unless they Reblog it from a 2nd party front-end.
We will also consult with the community about how to reduce and if possible, eliminate abuse.
The Hive blockchain is for social Dapps, not just blogging apps like Wordpress.
It's possible to tinker with the "max accepted payout" field if you feel some people would try to farm.
That way, if someone wants to farm, they would have to ramp up posting, but that would be noticeable.
Ideally, if SMTs are already here, you'd just launch your own tokens and not worry about reward disagreement.
Yes, this is one of the ideas we have been considering.
I will contact @guiltyparties soon . . hopefully he'll entertain my request for recommendations.
I think there is a way to do so. Through downvotes. An over rewarded post can be downvoted
Yes, and I am actually interested in us consulting with curation groups like @ocdb and those that flag abuse like @hivewatchers, @spaminator and @guiltyparties to help us find the best solutions.
As a community, we can find a way for social media DAPPs like micro-blog services to thrive on the blockchain by adding value, NOT removing it!
This is actually a brilliant idea. Twitter has billions of users. The potential for onboarding is enormous. Make sure you've got the ability to create enough accounts for everyone who wants them.
This should be advertised as a mechanism to back up one's Tweets immutably first and foremost. Monetization is a secondary concern, although an important one. Those people who never bother to interact with Hive users on Hive will probably not be very successful at monetizing their Tweets.
Good point . . we will eventually be making a page similar to https://signup.hive.io/
Excellent insight @markkujantunen!
Check out @hiveinvite. They have just released capability for mass on boarding. They put up a post yesterday.
Thanks for the heads up @niallon11 🙂
I will be waiting for this awesome dapp.
Thank you @dashand.. expect it next week 🙂
Why not focusing a complete service like Twitter here on Hive instead?
It will be a complete microblogging service just like Twitter is, but it has the added capability of allowing Twitter users to monetize their Tweets in a hassle free way.
You won't have to use Twitter at all, if you don't want to, and can use it on D.Buzz after our official launch (expected before the end of next week).
I will add this screenshot to the post for clarifcation.
Thank you @chesatochi 🙂
how does it work? is there one post per tweet? how do I prevent spam on my blog for tweeting?
Your Tweets shared to D.Buzz and the Buzz's you make on our microblogging web application will be shared to your posts only, and won't be shared to your blog unless you reblog them from a 2nd party front-end like Hive.Blog or @peakd.
wouldn't it be better if "tweets" would be done as comments?
We actually considered that but chose to user the Communities feature instead, since that was the whole intention of creating Communities, separate from the Blog section.
okay makes sense. got an ETA? I'll certainly use it :)
Our target is to launch before the end of next week 😊👍
Super excited!!!
This kind of platform we're waiting for. I hope many hivers will use this since the dapp is just starting.
This will be like twitter but no upvote like hive? Just wondering..
There will be differences between Twitter and us, but the basic microblogging services that Twitter also provides will be included in our DAPP.
I agree.. and I think this will help usher in addition non-Blogging DAPPs joining the HIVE blockchain.
Woah! Another great Dapp on the hive blockchain..
Thank you @markjason 🙂
I don't understand why some people are throwing tantrum about having few word posts on hive. This is a dapp ffs and no one is obliged to use it or vote posts on the platform. We should do away with the mentality that every dapps on hive should conform with our standards.
Bring it on guys! Kudos
This could be awesome, and I am reading the concerns about the potential spam but hopefully you guys can address that :)
Twitter is massive and I do believe directly responsible for the 'love' this blockchain got when we split from Steem. There isn't a more powerful platform in crypto.
This could be fantastic for HIVE. Good luck!!
Yes @jongolson, we are working on it!
And as mentioned in our previous post, we will launch this week with rewards declined for a period of one week. This will give us additional time to consult with the abuse fighters of the HIVE blockchain without delaying our launch 🙂
Awesome man. looking forward to it.
Nice. Good luck! Do dou plan a message feature?
In the future, and @openseed I think is making ground on that.
P.S. Thank you @felix.herrmann.
Lagot ka twitter ka! Dito na si dbuzz!
Wow this is great, perhaps we could invite Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki here on hive thru d.buzz.
Nice idea 🙂
Please get in touch with me if you want help with the launch especially on Twitter!
Thank you @brianoflondon.
I will contact you soon 🙂
Impressive good news!
Thank you @toofasteddie 🙂
I really love this idea. I think it is something the blockchain needs to increase market reach and attract more users. I would love to be a part of the user testing if you allow me .
Thank you for offering to help @joebrochin.
We have in house testers and some of the core members of the former https://steem.com.ph group spotted most of the bugs.
But there might be a few bugs left after we launch, so your assistance then would be helpful!
okay, sounds good.
Awesome, this will make engaging with HIVE community even more interesting. I saw few posts that was discussing about this idea, didn't know it was already being worked on. Good Luck.
I hope to see you there @the100 😊🖐️
This is spectacular. Hopefully it will cut across Facebook and other platforms
Thank you @onyemacourage we will do our best 🙂
Awesome and rehived :-)
Thank you @lichtblick 😊
I was inactive on Twitter as I'm focused on decentralized platforms however this could be a good reason for me to rekindle with my twitter account.
Looking forward to the launch of dBuzz ;)
supported with my full upvote + reblogged
Thank you @funtraveller 🙂
Super excited for this project to take off!
Me too 😀👏
🙏❤️ YEA!
Very cool. Can we post directly if we don't use twitter?
Yes!
Yes we want this!
Better yet,
Yes we Need this
Awesome guys, can't wait! 👍
Thank you @cryptodeepdive 😊✌️
You are aware of other similar microblog platforms like @strimipl that had problems with the rest because of tags/categories? They had to add prefixes in order to avoid spamming regular post tags... But it also cut their microblog content out from the rest of the steem users
On HTTPS://hive.blog tags are generally not used as the website is mainly organized around communities.
If @peakd, other front-ends or even Hive.Blog has an issue with the tags of our DAPP affecting their user experience, they can always adjust their websites accordingly.
It wouldn't make sense to completely destroy a promising DAPP simply because of the current state of existing front-ends.
And as @theycallmedan said in this comment section, most of today's content is short form content.
All in all, I will certainly try out your dapp, take care and keep us posted
Thank you @jocieprosza we will 😊👍
Great news!
Yes 😊🖐️
That will be great
Thank you @hiveonb we will launch next week at:
https://d.buzz
And you will be able to login with your HIVE account 🙂
Alright thanks
So...we are getting @share2steem 2.0? But Hive this time.
Yeah 🤣
I'm strangely okay with this, until I see mindless postings to get some "bonus" or meet some "quota" like I saw with @share2steem at its height.
That's what turned me off from them the first time.
Yeah, one of the things that will differentiate us from @share2steem is that we will be a full fledged DAPP, @share2steem wasn't.
We will also seek the approval and consultation of curation groups like @ocdb, and teams that prevent abuse like @hivewatchers, @guiltyparties & @spaminator. That might also separate us from a few of the projects that were frowned upon, and can place us in alignment with the projects that the community loves 🙂
lol
Guys can you please pleaseeeee integrate Instagram too??? Pleaseee
This is one of the ideas we are considering, but 1st we have to complete the features we already have planned 🙂
Any plans to integrate other social media like Instagram?
We are considering it 🙂
Oh this is SUPER exciting!! You mean the 20+ posts I put out on twitter each day could soon be earning me #Hive? That works for me!! 😍
You wouldn't be able to earn as much rewards for 20 Buzz's as you would 20 blog posts..
But you would be able to earn something where you are currently earning nothing.
You would also be supporting decentralized apps on the Hive blockchain, our only hope of protecting freedom of speech against Web 2.0 tyrants.
I currently share a lot of the @naturalmedicine community content to twitter - it's a drip feed that currently rewards little more than a feel good. Tiny, incremental Hive payments for things we're already doing?? Smart!! Supporting decentralized and free speech 10000%.
Please let us know how best to assist you and how to authenticate our accounts when it's time.
Sure.. I'll check back on all of our comments after we launch to find yours again, and assist 🙂
P.S. You can assist us by trying our Dapp once it's launched by being honest with what you think about it.
Congratulations @dbuzz!
You raised your level and are now a Dolphin!
Do not miss the last post from @hivebuzz:
Support the HiveBuzz project. Vote for our proposal!
Demo password please!
The password will be removed next week once we launch 👍
Interesting. This would be really cool going forward. I just hope there will be a way to keep content in a way that it won't show up in the general feed.
Musing had a long comment thread that prevented questions from.popping up as individual posts. Do you think you can integrate something like that?
We are seeking the consul of stakeholders and abuse fighters to ensure our DAPP falls in line with community standards.
But for starters, Buzz's shared on HTTPS://d.buzz won't publish to your Blog but will post to your Post section instead.
Posts =! Blog
If you have any other concerns, or even constructive criticism, feel free to give us additional feedback & ask questions 😊
Love the idea!
Thank you @resiliencia 😊👍
Will all posts go to a community so that our blogs will not be cluttered by tons of micro-posts?
Edit: I see the question has already been answered. Should have read the comments first. Great to hear it will not he automatically posted to our blogs.
I look forward to communicating with you on D.Buzz once it's launched!
Sweet, more frontends is always welcome.
Is your project open source or planning to be in the future?
We are not open source as of now but will consider it in the future 👍
Im getting confused, about dbuzz it was famaliar to me i thought i have an account from the dbuzz let me check
I don't think so.. this is a new Dapp . . but you will be able to login using your HIVE username and password once we launch (sometime this week).
Glad this idea is coming back. There was a dapp called zappl a couple of years ago but it just stopped one day (my idea for #ZapFic came from thinking of ways to use the dapp creatively).
At that time a few people had an issue with the short format (I was accused of trying to milk the system when my "zap"s were only worth about 18cents!.
I hope with communities this will be less of a problem.
Good luck, I will definitely check you out and support you on Twitter
EDIT:
Will we be able to disable this feature easily. There are a lot of tweets i share on twitter for publicity of others Hive posts. I wouldn't want those tweets posted on Hive
Reblogged, Upvoted and Tweeted
This is an excellent point!
Thank you.. I will add this to our list of new features . . having said that:
It is turned off by default and only people who verify their account via our in-house system will have their Tweets reposted to D.Buzz
If you don't use the hashtags #hive, #dbuzz or the ticker $hive in a particular Tweet, it won't post to D.Buzz, even if you verified your account.
Your Buzz's will post to your Posts section but will not post to your Blog section, unless you ReBlog it from a 3rd party front-end like @peakd.
Great news
Yes! @angel33
Growing blockchain technology is a good step in the right direction, look forward to seeing this in action.
Not in total agreement with rewarding at the rate of normal Hive, unless restricted to one post per day in such a short format`
We are in the process of working on solutions for that, and in the beginning, when we launch this week, we'll launch with rewards declined as we work with the abuse fights of the HIVE blockchain to find the best solution.
#AlmostThere
P.S. https://hive.blog/proposal/@dbuzz/proposal-to-change-usdhive-at-the-blockchain-level
This is the First competitor From appics.
It pays to be active here. Just by doing the things that you love like compiling the memorable shots and adding captions to it. We will get rewarded. Thanks to everyone for supporting me. Seen this ads on Facebook. I will be forever grateful for it.
Exciting news! Re-Hiving and waiting
Thank you @marketinggeek . . we'll be launching this week so stay tuned!
I appreciate yall for this one!
Thank you @bigtakosensei . . I hope to interact with you there!
Oh wow, this sounds pretty great! It looks like a great place to find common Hivers, since Twitter is a awash with things aplenty. It also looks like a great place to discover new content too, as an alternative to exploring them on HIVE. Cheers, and I'm awaiting the full launch soon :-)
I am actually particularly interested in this as I love collaboration and synergy 🙂
Same here, mate! I'd love to see more of this :-)
That’s awesome! I’ll be sure to try it out 😀
Thank you @stackin 😊👏
