For our first destination I chose a fabulous place with a great history, not far from Bourgas ..
I'm talking about Sozopol ... I was inspired for the post because I connect the beautiful city with my childhood and my grandfather. I had great moments.
And now fate has brought me back there, after the opportunity to get a small yacht in the beautiful port of Sozopol.
I look forward to the first warm days to enjoy sunrises and sunsets on the high seas.
The first finds found in Sozopol take us back to the IV-III century BC. When it's believed that some of the earliest settlements of fishermen, farmers, pastoralists and metallurgists originated here⚒️⛏️🔨. The settlement continued to develop during the Early Bronze and Bronze Ages, as evidenced by underwater research around the coast of Sozopol, revealing the remains of homes, pottery, stone and bone tools.
Around the II-I century BC. according to Herodotus, the region of Sozopol was inhabited by Thracian tribes (Skirmiadi and Nipsei), who were considered experienced miners and merchants.
However, the city itself originated in 610 BC, when Greek settlers from the cities of Miletus and Phocaea founded a colony here named Anthea. According to legend, this place was chosen because the Phoenician sailors recommend it as the most protected port on the coast of the southern Black Sea coast. Residents surround the city with high fortress walls (whose ruins can still be seen today) to protect it from enemies. Due to its excellent location, the colony flourished remarkably in the first centuries and quickly became a trading center for honey, wool, wine, olive oil, textiles, jewelry and ceramics.
As for the sights, you can't stay in Sozopol and not visit the architectural-archeological reserve "Ancient Sozopol", declared a museum in 1974. One of the most interesting buildings there is the church "Holy Mother", dated from XV c. It was built on the ruins of an existing Christian church, built according to Roman imperial requirements. Today the church is a functioning church and is inscribed on the UNESCO list of world cultural landmarks. In addition, it is worth paying attention to the other three churches "St. Georgi ”,“ St. Zosim ”and“ St. Cyril and Methodius

As for the amazing and beautiful rooms for rent for relaxation, provided to us by the radiant locals, you can enjoy the beautiful sunrises from the bed...
Sozopol is famous for its green fig jam ... people, it's like sealing the taste of summer in a grandmother's jar. Try it, there are recipes on the Internet.
Thank you, and if there are people from you who have visited this heavenly place or have ideas for my next research, please share in the comments >>> Kisses from Bulgaria 🥰 !!!
