Upvoting yourself is a hive faux pas.
This game has rules, if it didn't there wouldn't be any point in playing it.
One rule is that we have to flag abuse, or get sucked dry by low effort posting.
If you are not doing that, you are playing the game in contradiction to its rules.

every single time i've asked the vigilantes what "the rules" are, i've been told "there are no rules", "anybody can downvote anybody else for any reason".
how is anyone supposed to know "don't self-vote" ?
that seems like a simple code fix.
the "rules" should be in code.
Not selfvoting is a small sacrifice the community asks you to have the self discipline to make.
In return you can blog for money.
You can comment for money.
If you are that selfish that you can't make yourself stop taking from us and giving to yourself, we probably don't want you here anyway.
If everybody self voted the platform will fail.
Nobody wants to play that game.
I prefer that people self control rather than be controlled, eh?
Without knowing wrong, there is no right, irrespective of any labels.

I think there's a problem when accounts like @practicalthought and @oldoneeye and @akiroq are leaving because the "enforcement mechanism" is capricious and tyrannical.

Yes there is definitely a problem to me, and the only solution for me is to just move my time elsewhere. Logic does not prevail here when it comes to discussing these issues. It has basically become a paradigm, and the one that I am interested in most, has mostly departed this blockchain. So our only power is to just use our time elsewhere, as this one has become far too heavy leaning to the ideals that I do not possess, and actually reject.
For me, it isn't about the money. It is about the control and the negative aspect this system provides. The flaws outweigh the benefits for me. But hey, there are still some that like it, so more power to them. Have fun and all that. Hope they get their money that they care so much about, more than morals. It is just a microcosm of our world. Make the wrong kind of peep, get bombarded by powers that should not be... I don't 'escape' the shit from the world, by jumping into shit.
I'll pop on here once in a while though.. maybe more than monthly someday. If I feel like some masochism. My morals are more important to me than money. I dumped all platforms that bother me in these ways. Nothing personal against this one. It's still a neat blockchain, I just can't stomach the 'governance'.
Until the fork to hive we didn't have a free platform, it was ruled by the one I won't name with an iron fist.

If anybody wants input on what happens with most flaggots, all they have to do is join the discord servers, or tag people in posts, and they can have their input.
Don't kid yourself that all the posts don't get read.

You have to decide for you what is right for you to do.
I can't do it for you, nor should I.
Conversely, you can't decide what is right for me to do.
You get your say on the matter, if you are involved that much, but you telling me what is right or wrong for me is not possible due to the variance in viewpoints.
It is physically impossible for me to see with your eyes, nor you mine.
Now, we can lay odds on what is politically acceptable, but that is a different topic.
For the record, the political process can't determine right from wrong for me for the same reasons.
It can decree off with my head, but that doesn't make it right to do so.
