After about 24 hours of downtime for my Backup Witness, I’m happy to report that I’ve successfully updated to the latest version of the Hive Blockchain, 1.27.6, and I’ve written my first block with this new version. The update process took around 24 hours, which I just let run overnight.
I encourage anyone who hasn’t upgraded to the latest version to do so, as it’s essential for all witnesses to be on the most current software to ensure smooth operation across the network. According to Blocktrades, the next hard fork is scheduled for December 11, 2024, for version 1.28.0, which will include many adjustments and enhancements.
