Drama never stops

in #hive5 years ago

There's more than a few reasons why I decided to distance myself a bit from the front lines, and none of them had to do with my ideals changing. The truth is that the drama that goes along with STEEM (now Hive) can cause almost anybody to burn out.

One would think that turning the page, that achieving this great victory over centralization would allow us to tone the drama down, but of course this will never be the case.

The answer has always been staring at me right in the face. We all love drama. I meant, we say we hate it, we say we don't want it, but at the opportunity of diving into it, we hesitate not.

It may be incredibly naive of me to think that writing this, that bringing this detail into light does anything to help, but yet, here I am.

If you are leaving STEEM, as many of us have chosen to do. That's great, power to you, welcome. If you are staying in STEEM, I wish you the same. I think it's a bit presumptuous to state that either HIVE or STEEM are destined to failure for X or Y reason at this point, and it's certainly not helpful commentary.

Does this mean that I agree with Justin Sun's actions? I mean, it must, since I'm not trashing STEEM 24/7 on twitter, right?

This new drama reminds me a bit of BCH in it's infancy. The fights, the destroyed "friendships", the words that can't be taken back, etc. What for? Who won?

I'll promise you this much: Either STEEM or Hive will fork again at some point. Why? Because such is the nature of these experiments. As the ideas mature, differences sprout and mental tribes leave home to settle in what they deem are greener pastures.

I will also say that if you are watching the drama wondering if we are ever going to get over it, then you might as well wait for pigs to fly. It's not going to happen. To this day Roger Ver and Tone Vays never miss an opportunity to throw dirt at each other, and it's been years since the split.

One thing's for sure. Even though it may seem that it's always the same people making all the fuzz, if you somehow convinced them to leave or to stop, others would gladly fill the roles. Why? Because it's part of the social environment, and it will always be.

Best advice I can give anyone, including myself, is to ignore the noise and keep on keeping on. Easier said than done, but nonetheless the sane option that is always on the table.

Yep drama is the king :)

The nature of human-beings are connected to dramas and wars!
Our DNA has thousand years of war and conflict stored in.
With no drama our worlds get boring and that's when we create a new one.
So this one has to die down and probably it'll reach it's balance in no time. :)

I really needed to read this. Thanks. Finally a voice of reason speaking. I will avoid all drama from now and never take sides. We are learning that and that's good for us as content creators.

Truth brother. Peace.

Came back to Steem (err.... Hive) after several months. Found about all this just a few days ago. If anything I have a little extra restless energy that I can share at the front lines. But I won't be doing that.... rather keep my head down and resume my posting and commenting here on hive.

TBH the feeling of betrayal is there and its sharp.... but I am still gonna put my guard up and not fight back. I need this extra energy to find my groove back here on Hive.

If all the drama moves to a different blockchain then one may have a blank canvas to work with. A really inexpensive way of getting in your own crew in without paying off the problem children. Something tells me Justin couldn't be happier with the flight of the witnesses to Hive. Time will tell if following them to Hive was the right move. Let's see how they get on. I am hedging my bets in this regards

Sometimes you really shouldnt ignore the noise. If a lot of people are yelling something, maybe, just maybe its prudent to listen closely.
This is a comment on the recent COVID pandemic, not at all refering to what youre actually talking about. ;)

Hope you are keeping yourself safe Bud... It's pandemonium across the pond

Moved to the countryside. Fresh air and no coronas anywhere to be seen. ;)

Hope all is good with you and the bro.

So true, that drama adds color to our life. Sometime it gives s new opportunity but the great news is that we get free money...
