Am I the only one sick of the Victim Mentality?

in #hive5 years ago

People who were part of making the Steem fork to Hive happen were deprived of their Steem tokens by Hardfork 23. Most of these account holders had hundreds of thousands, or millions of STEEM tokens. They were in the process of dumping these on the market to get what they could out of the token before it hits rock bottom.

Call it a tit for tat. They excluded Justin et al from Hive, Justin excludes them from Steem.

Call it Theft - They held a token, now they no longer have that token. But thanks to the actions of community321 sending them to Bittrex, neither does Justin.

Call it what you will, but claiming, as I have seen over and over again that one person was robbed of tokens valued at a million dollars is to completely negate the value of Hive. If your STEEM was worth a million dollars at the time of the fork, and Hive is doing better than the value of Steem at the fork, then you have lost NOTHING. In fact, you gained whatever you milked out of Steem between the fork and now, PLUS you have your Hive tokens. YOU WIN!!!

I don't understand all of the small accounts that are coming to the defense of these folks who are going to market dump this Steem on you ensuring that you get very little value out of your tokens as you power down.

BOTTOM LINE

If you believe in the true value of Hive and that building this community is going to increase the value of the Hive token, then move on. Create the value here. The HIVE tokens are your replacement for Steem, they did not exist when you invested "millions of dollars" in Steem, so now they are your created value. Get your investment back out of Hive and forget the STEEM.

The more this fight drags on, the more exchanges are going to drop Steem, and some may even decide to drop Hive as well, then no one gets value. No matter how many tokens you have, if the value is zero, then the whole is still worth zero.

Let the minnows who moved to Hive with you get their $100 or so out of the Steem chain to buy HIVE with so that we increase your HIVE value. Then sell HIVE if you need to take out your original investment.

I know I am poking the bear with this, but I am seeing too much of it and too much support from those of us with little accounts. No one lost anything. Justin has his STEEM that he bought from Ned, everyone who moved from STEEM to HIVE has the mirrored token credit. Pick your chain, build on it and move the fuck on.

I think what you're seeing is a lost of an ideal. Many times we have these ideas of how the world is, when the world shifts and alright deals are proven wrong it's a certain amount of pain that comes with it. it's sad to watch someone come in and destroy something you spend years building. Luckily enough people stood up and helped others walk away. All we can do is focus on ourselves come and help me set an example that inspired the rest to come along. Hopefully enough people have learned from this, protect us in the future from happening again.
