Dumping Steem. The Beginnings Of Going All In On Hive.

So today marks my first sell off of my powered down Steem. I know a lot of people jumped straight in and started powering down and dumping, but I pulled a watch and wait. But the reality set in that the Steem will probably become a dead coin in the future. I kinda wished I had the foresight like many to power down before the fork to have just shifted it all to Hive. Ho hum.

At the moment I'm just holding it in Ethereum until Ethereum goes upwards a little more then the eth is going straight into Hive. I kinda feel like Hive will float down around it's current price for a bit while the more popular crypto's gain. I'm hoping this approach will give me the ability to buy more Hive and get more bang for my buck. It could be a mistake.... Dunno. I sold my Pivx at three dollars after buying it at around fifteen cents back during the last bull run and it went out to nine dollars after I sold. I've made similar mistakes with Bitcoin and Litecoin over the years... You live and learn.

One thing is for certain, I really don't feel like I've made a mistake with dumping my Steem. The entire involvement of Steemit inc and the various let downs has just left a bad taste in my mouth. Hive is the new home now, and from the looks of it it's where all the industry and talent is anyway.

Well guys that's it. I'm putting this post up more so I can look back and have a mark for when I began going all in on Hive and left Steem behind. If you made it this far thanks for reading, and as always looking forward to checking out your amazing content.

I finished up my power down a couple of weeks ago now. I'd have to go back and look on steem to see when the last vote was cast and to whom, I may do that, I know it was well over a month ago. Anyways, welcome to the full Hive Fun, and thanks for all the help back on steem, and the resteems and such on hive.

Thanks for stopping by bash. I'm guessing in our next bull run we will see hive really open up into something better than what we had on Steem. I keep flirting with the idea of a massive power up, but I'm gonna watch and wait as most of my crypto holdings are things like btc, ltc, eth, etc and I feel like they are gonna go up a ways long before hive moves. Oh, and no worries on the resteem stuff. I try to always keep up with the original folks I met in the block chain space who's content I enjoy.

I think a lot of the investment type people are waiting to see what direction Hive takes with the first two hard forks. After what took place on steem, I know if I was an investor type I would want to see the direction the Hive Founders want to move in. We can all call it decentralized how ever much we want, but there is a small group that made the fork, and right now they are the ones that will control the direction for a little bit.

Swap.app is an option I have used to quickly swap Steem for Hive (or BTC). It's even integrated into the peakd interface:

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll definitely be checking it out. In many ways I'm still getting familiar with all the cool stuff we have in our Hive ecosystem so a heads up on things is always welcome. :)

It's better late than never! I feel bad for some of the people who are still on Steem and think that things will improve with Justin at the helm. The place seems to be a relative ghost town lately with the same people posting and not a whole lot of new users getting on board. Did they leave the 4 week powerdown in place? Last I saw when I powered down my Steem was it was 4 weeks and I was able to get all of my remaining holdings out quicker so that was nice.

I am hoping that the Hive price doesn't lag behind too much versus the other coins but you never know. It's becoming a lot more about name recognition and BTC, ETH and LTC are some major players so the new people are flocking to those instead of ones that aren't listed in the top 100.

I agree regarding the name recognition. I think we have a great chance to actually fulfil a lot of the potential that was always talked about on steem, but never really realised. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best as always in that regard.
