Testing dictation mode on the iPhone

in #hive2 years ago

This is a very short post because I wanted to try out the dictation mode on my iPhone so that I can vocally blog and not worry about typing stuff which sometimes might be a little more fluid/frictionless doing it this way.

It seems to get a few words wrong, but the cool thing is that I can select a word or two to edit and then dictate what I want them to be changed to.

Sometimes I’m walking round a place and I see stuff that I want to make a note of being able to do it hands-free is very useful.

I’ve written this entire post using my voice which is fantastic. I may not do this all the time because I might look like an idiot talking to myself!

I’m intrigued to know whether anyone else out there does the same thing?

Wow, that's really cool! I love the idea of being able to vocally blog, it definitely makes the process more efficient and smoother. I think it's great that your iPhone's dictation mode is helping you do that. I've heard that it's not perfect, but the ability to edit words quickly makes up for it. I totally understand how helpful it can be when you're on the go and want to capture your thoughts without having to type everything out.

I've never tried vocally blogging before, but after reading your post, I might give it a try sometime. It's always interesting to try out new things and see if they work for us. Have you found that vocally blogging has helped you capture your thoughts more effectively compared to typing them out?

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, it's always inspiring to see others embrace new technologies and find innovative ways to communicate their thoughts.

There’s definitely a difference between the two input methods in terms of the flow that I can’t quite explain other than to say that it works really well. Many people talk to themselves whilst working out what they want to say, I certainly do and perhaps you also do that?

It’s a great tool, I use it for replying to messages from people, as sometimes it’s faster, especially if I’m doing something else on my laptop.

Thanks for your wonderful reply by the way😀

I vlog on breaks on my walks, although not on Hive ... yet ... I also use a Bluetooth headset so people see I'm talking as an idiot with other idiots...

Yes! I’ll often do this with my AirPods even if I’m in the house because I’m often listening to music or podcasts.
