I’ve been thinking, yes that’s that loud whirring noise you can hear coming from the direction of Berkshire, my recently re-adopted county we now know as home, that it may be just as easy to write a big weekly post about the things I’ve encountered online and off. I’ll keep up the Actifit stuff and occasional Pinmapple posts, I enjoy those, they’re fun to do.
Late last year I was posting several posts a day and went a bit mad. Now, I enjoy reading other people’s posts and commenting on their thoughts and ideas. I’ve calmed down and wish to take more time over this. It’s an investment after all, where we are encouraged to think before we write, to bide our time more.
On Hive
I’ve seen some great ideas this week and I want to highlight them and point you in their direction.
@adetorrent wrote about how Hive could help homeless people, in his post https://ecency.com/hive-148441/@adetorrent/an-incomplete-idea trying to figure out, how a homeless person who has been provided with a mobile phone could use Hive to share their world view, to earn Hive/HBD/HP etc. The crux of the matter though, is how would they be able to cash out their earnings? If you've any ideas, head over to the original post, have a read and comment there, not here!
I think this was a great idea and just goes to show how Hive has helped inspire it's users to think differently, to benefit other people.
Another interesting post was by @solymi posing the question; Would you offer your services in exchange for Hive/HBD?
It has received a lot of great comments from people to say they would. Especially if it were easier to transact. Do any of the front-ends allow you, for example to find a user's profile, click on a link to tip (or perhaps "Pay" is a better word) them in HBD. In other words, a sort of Hive online shopfront for your business or even your side hustle? I would happily take HBD in return of taking portraits using my mobile studio for example.
Kayaking
This is something I need to photograph or film in some way. I am looking into this because I would love to capture some footage for 3Speak or D.Tube - not sure which, that I can embed in posts on chain.
This week was a great session, as we met at the Canal Centre in Mytchett Hampshire and paddled along the Basingstoke canal to Lakeside which is famous for the World Darts Championships. We covered about 4 miles I reckon, there and back.
One more canal session next week and we take a two week break, to start again in June at the Aldershot Lido. During the summer months there are a number of trips including a trip along St Patrick's Stream, which is a tributary of the River Thames near Henley. A coastal trip in Dorset out to Old Harry's rocks which will be a big adventure for the likes of Tina and I. We've not kayaked on the sea before, plus a friend has got me a similar trip booked around Hayling Island.
Pub of the week
Ok I've stolen this from the brilliant Robbie Cummings, was "The Farriers Arms" which is just down the road from us in Spencers Wood. We had Prosecco and ale, together with a Surf & Turf and Chicken Tikka. Good old pub grub, nicely made!
Next week
I am going to keep these weekly roundup posts going and will build up on the detail. I need to start the draft off at the beginning of the week and add to it as I go along.
Enjoy your weekend and have a great week Hivers!
Thanks for shouting out my post :)
Also, Yes, I would accept HBD for work if I had a service to offer. It's better than the dollar right now and the interest rate is 20% APR!!
You’re welcome!
An interesting post. Thank you.
