Up a Tree by Ron Guest, on Flickr
I was going through my witness votes recently (if this is something that you haven't done in a while do it now, and if you don't know how comment below and I will walk you through) and noticed that there are a lot of top witnesses that are interested in lowering the HBD savings APR.
My question is, why?
My understanding is that it is better to encourage saving of SBD to limit the market variance and therefore make it easier to manipulate with other levers.
If there are inflationary pressures that make it harder to maintain the link to the USD, I would love to know the theory to that.
My personal preference would be to have a bunch of my value locked into the savings and earn interest.
If you are a witness, or understand the economics behind the APR on savings and how it should be set, please comment below. I want to learn.
