RE: Is HIVE a social TOOL or a GAME?

in #hive5 years ago

In my opinion, i think its both. A tool for some of us in third world, I mean my small business suffered a heavy blow due to corona and I have been writing(even tho I'm not making much out of it). A game, cos only people who knows people(fat wallets owners) makes something tangible out of it irrespective if tags or numbers of days spent to write a topic.

Well, it's kinda like in real world - you need a lot of work or luck to "break through". Also blogging in general does not generate a lot if money. To make it happen we would need native ads support and some good streaming platform (in my opinion). Maybe we'll get there :)

I'd love to hear more about your ideas on native add support. I know Stinc tried that, but think the profits went right in their coffers. Wonder if there's a way to create a platform or augment an existing one where the profits are distributed to anyone who holds stake in the protocol? In terms of a good streaming platform, I wholeheartedly agree. Any that you feel have promise? So true @cardboard. Nothing is a meritocracy and overnight success = 10 (20? 30?) years...

As for ads - I was thinking more about a platform that would send the profits to content creators. As for live streaming - sadly no.

Hey @oluwoleolaide thanks as usual for providing some great perspective here. Was reading today about revolution in terms of non-state, UBI and medical coverage created through decentralized digital currency means and it reminds me how important what we're beginning to do here is. So in that respect, it's not only a tool, a game, but also a promise of how things can and should be. That's something great to work towards. Maybe you can riff more on a post about that and what you said above and how #HIVE has the potential to change the world. Tag me on it and I'll get you some votes 😀

Many thanks Mr.Doug, I'll work on it.
