The Arizona Moneyshot

in #hive5 years ago

Back in the fall of last year I documented a cross country drive from Alabama to Utah. It was mainly in a blog form but it also had a lot of photos in it as well. Some were better than others as I had some bad weather and a dirty windshield in which to contend. There were however some really great photos mixed in that I feel got a little buried. So I wanted to take this chance to highlight some of those individually. Below is a photo taken in the Navajo Nation area of Arizona and it is followed by some background info and the story behind it.

So on this leg of my trip I had driven from Elephant Butte, NM to Salt Lake City, UT. My route took me through northeastern Arizona then went up through Bluff, UT and so on. The above photo was taken on my way back. I'd spent the night in Blanding, UT and had a roughly 7 hour drive back to Elephant Butte which is just outside of Truth of Consequences( yes that's really the name of the town look it up). I'd taken a bunch of pics from my car that weren't all that great. This wasn't long after I'd crossed back into Arizona from Utah. That's when I saw this rock formation. I knew it would possibly be the best photo I'd taken on the trip but definitely the best I'd taken that day. It was out in the middle of nowhere. There really wasn't much of a ditch to speak of so I just pulled over on the side of the road and got out and took the photo. I hadn't seen another car for miles. Anyways I though it was a great photo and it kind've got buried in an earlier post so I wanted to post it by itself because I felt like it was warranted. Thanks everyone and have a great day

I could imagine those rock formations to be massive. It was nicely photographed.

Good to see you back. Welcome to Hive!

@tipu curate

Yeah they were enormous the photo itself doesn't really capture the sheer size of it
