Hello Praetorians!
It is I, the Psi, back with another HIVE post!
Today I would like to talk about why NOW is the BEST time I've ever seen to start your Splinterlands journey, and purchase your SPELLBOOK! I'd also like to introduce you to a new series I'll be starting involving a NEW HIVE account that I'll be creating!

WHY NOW?
There are 2 reasons I believe TODAY is the BEST day to start a new account in SPLINTERLANDS. If you've been on the fence, or reluctant to tell your friends because of the $10 cost of buying the Spellbook (which also creates a HIVE account for you!), then you're going to want to read this!
There are 2 promotions ongoing right now that will almost pay back your initial investment right away, as well as help you experience and succeed in Splinterlands. First is a promotion run by SPLINTERLANDS themselves, the second is BraveTofu's ambassador incentive, BOTH of which are limited time events!
THE SPLINTERLANDS PROMOTION:
To begin with, Splinterlands themselves recently made an announcement on their official Discord about a "bonus" for new players! For a limited time / while supplies last, a new player who buys a Spellbook will ALSO receive 5x Packs of Chaos Legion, absolutely FREE!

This is on TOP of the standard benefits you receive for buying a Spellbook, which include everything you see here, as well as 3500 CREDITS which have a value of $3.50 on their own!
It is worthwhile to note that "Battle Rewards Boost" is a delegation of 100 SPS from the DAO for 30 days to help get you started earning GLINT when you battle.
So altogether you now receive the following from SPLINTERLANDS for purchasing your Spellbook:
- 5x Packs of Chaos Legion ($0.30 x 5 = $1.50)
- 3500 Credits ($3.50)
- A 100 SPS delegation for 30 days (6 DEC worth at 0.002/SPS)
= value of $5... 50% of your Spellbook cost!

So if we look at the value of his Ambassador Incentives from a monetary perspective, WITHOUT spending the $100 to reach his 2nd tier of rewards (those go waayyyy beyond the initial benefits) they look like this:
- 5 Packs of Chaos Legion ($0.30 x 5 = $1.50)
- 20000 SPS delegation for 30 days (1200 DEC worth at 0.002/SPS, basically $1.00)
= value of $2.50... 25% of your Spellbook cost!
PUTTING IT TOGETHER!
When you look at these 2 offers combined, you end up with:
- Splinterlands Promotion = $5.00
- BraveTofu Ambassador Incentive = $2.50
= $7.50 in Rewards! Thats 75% of your Spellbook cost!

It's important to also consider the FUN that you'll have playing Splinterlands, an intangible value that can't be measured with dollar signs and ROI! The game itself is fun AF, and mitigating any perceived "costs" only makes it more enjoyable since you can focus on PLAYING, and not worrying about sunken costs into a game you may not end up enjoying.
THEPSILENCE QUEST... "PATH TO POWER"!
Why am I personally excited about all of these incentives and opportunities? Aside from the perspective of getting a bunch of new players interested, I'll ALSO be creating a new account "ThePsilence" and starting over!
I've always loved the Magic the Gathering concept of "Pack to Power", where you start off with one pack and try to trade it's contents up into a piece of the Power 9. There are also those people who start with a Paper Clip, and try to turn that into a car, or a house. I know, I know, sounds impossible, right? In a new segment I'll be starting from ZERO and working my way back through the leagues using all the tips, techniques, and knowledge I've learned in my past few years as a Splinterlands player. How far can I go off just a Spellbook? Using things like HIVE posts, guild brawls, smart buys and sells I hope to go from "zero to hero" and show what you can do with a minimal investment!
I've always loved RPG's like Dragon Age and Fallout, and once you've beaten them once it's fun to start again as a new class and make different choices. This to me is the Splinterlands equivalent! I hope to see some of you following this new journey!

Thanks buddy! I'm looking forward to "starting from scratch" and seeing how the game plays at the lower levels, as well as chronicling the journey so other can (possibly) follow or avoid mistakes. Tofu deserves all the credit, he put a lot of work into his ambassador program and I hope it serves him well! I agree! If nothing else, the reduced barrier to entry makes things more affordable, which could translate to more fun since you can experience the game in all it's high level glory without as much risk (NFA)! Thanks for the reply!
I saw your video this morning. Good stuff! It is a good time to join right now. I was telling that to the one of the new players that took Tofu on his offer. I would never give financial advice, and nothing is for certain, but I think people who get in now might be glad they did.

If nothing else, it seems like all the incentives mitigate most of the risk of the spellbook at least (NFA)! I've been trying to get a few friends in as well... I worry that Tofu will run out of referrals at this rate since I even send them his way not mine! haha. Thanks for the reply!
I hope those benefits will bring us some more players. I know splinterlands is not really easy to understand as a beginner, but as soon as you get into it, it makes a lot of fun!
I agree that we need to hand hold to start, that's why I think it's great that we have people like Tofu (and myself, and basically all of discord!) who are willing to help new players find the joy of SPL! The complexity has kept a few of my friends away, but I'm fully committed to answering their questions and guiding them towards being successful in the game and having fun! Thanks for the comment!
