in #hive5 years ago

Hi Hive!

I am Ranky, and in this post I we discuss the importance of internal links. Websites like Wikipedia have their entire website structured with hyperlinks[1]. This gives more authority to the page, and the underlying structure of the website.

Let us Circle-"Link" together.

Hyperlinks Explained To My Grandma

Everybody knows what a link is, the URL / Uniform Resource Locator. It brings us to a specific address where content on the internet is displayed to the end user, us.

By linking to that URL from our own page on the internet, we give link juice, a backlink. to that url, and thus more authority.

The text you put between the brackets [anchortext] is called the anchor. Like this: [keywords like Ranky] (https://hive.blog/@ranky/)
This will display like this Ranky.
Now Google knows this page is all about Ranky.

It is very important to put the keywords in there that tells the reader what the link is about. This is crucial for SEO. So, if I put hive.blog (👈 like this), we tell Google specifically that the webpage we refer to is about Hive.blog.

Now start go find relevant blog post on Hive.blog that you can link back to and create our own wikipedia for Hive!
