Where is your Mind located in the Human body??

Even though for many of you, this is not a question at all but for the few persons that need this clarification:

The Mind is located in the brain, or the mind is equal to the brain. You probably use both terms, brain, and mind, interchangeably, like “Everything is in your mind” or “Everything is in your brain”.

Neuroscientist around the world has also made us learn that the mind is the brain in action. For that reason, we are able to decipher that the mind is the state when the brain is alive and at work. In other words, When the brain is dead, the mind cannot function. The human mind is located only in the living, working brain. The dead brain(dead person) has no mind!

MINDSET

According to Mobile ENGLISH offline Dictionary, mindset can be defined as a way of thinking; an attitude or opinion, especially a habitual one.

TYPES OF MINDSET

We have generally two types of mindset in people which are the fixed and growth mindset.

Generally, persons with a fixed mindset tend to always believe that qualities are inborn, fixed, and unchangeable without a second thought. Unlike persons with a growth mindset, on the other hand, that believes abilities can be developed and strengthened by way of commitment and hard work.

For better understanding here is an example to buttress the types of mindsets:

Example 1
"Are you sure you can do it?

The fixed mindset says I'm not sure I can do it, I don't have the talent."

The growth mindset answers, "I'm not sure I can do it now, but I think I can learn to with time and effort."

Example 2

What if you end up failing the test

Fixed mindset: "oh shit, I'll be a failure."

Growth mindset: "if you ask me most successful people had failures along the way."

WHY MINDSET MATTERS

The role which the mindset plays in handling daily life challenges can not be overemphasized. In your school, workplace, or even in the fitness centers, a growth mindset can contribute largely to greater achievement and increased effort. It has been on record that people who face challenges such as trying to find a new job, and have imbibed in themselves the growth mindsets tend to show greater resilience.

The Famous American Psychologist, Carol Dweck explains how persons with Fixed mindsets always tend to create a need for approval because of disbelief in themselves and how persons with the Growth mindsets build up themselves as a result of hunger for learning.

Our mindsets give us the desire to work hard and discover new things and even extends to tackling challenges and growing as a person. Failure is inevitable most times and When people with a growth mindset try and fail, they tend not to view it as a failure or disappointment. Instead, they see it from the viewpoint that it is a learning experience that can lead to growth and change.

HOW DOES THIS MINDSET FORM

Mindsets are developed very early in life and can be changed. Our Mindset might have been born from either through the way we were raised or experiences in our immediate environment

A fixed mindset was built from wanting kids to look smart rather than be smart. By so doing the kids become more concerned with how they are being assessed and worry that they might not live up to expectations.

For a Growth mindset, it all starts from not seeing every mistake as a setback. One should be willing to try new things and make errors all in the name of learning and achieving their potential. People fail to understand that a growth mindset doesn't merely involve believing that anyone can become anything they want with enough education and effort. The truth is Not everyone can become Einstein just because they try. Rather, the growth mindset is practically standing up to one's possible potential. Who knows how far you can go?
