Hey again folks,
Way back in 2017 I used to write a lot of long form content, humor, rants, chain news and how-to blogs, I guess sort of the same kinds of things I am starting to post again around here now.
But I also loved to make memes or as we called them then, "steemes".
Which definitely doesn't word play quite so well with "hives", as we certainly don't want "hives" to go viral, so let's stick with memes for now...
Today, over a coffee, I was looking at some of my earliest content, created during a period after I'd been here for about a month or so and was starting to get the lay of the land, but didn't quite have a well defined style or purpose yet. So these were me as a freshly caught minnow, just looking around and recording what I saw at the time.
Are they still relevant today?
I think, maybe so!
Do these memes from 2017 still hold up seven years later? You be the judge. I look forward to your reactions in the comments and maybe even some new or old ones of your own.
I left out the ones with the word "steem" or "steemians" in them but those all mostly still seemed true to me as well.
Here's a few which weren't labeled with the old name, that I think might still make sense today.
Ok, I had to update these two for inclusion, despite my not wanting to use the ones that mentioned the old name, because well, they sort of fit the vibe of this very post itself. But both still ring true in what I sometimes see in my feed as well.
Show me your memes in the comments and let me know which of these were your favorite one!
We don't always have to post serious works of exhaustive creativity. Sometimes it's just about a little levity to go with your coffee.

What do you mean earning 30 dollars on a post? It is my understanding that there is a hard cap at 3 dollars 😂
haha, when I was new, I learned a phrase in the discords. Want better rewards? "Git gud!" 😆🤑

What's a meme?
meme
noun
ˈmēm
1: an amusing or interesting item (such as a captioned picture or video) or genre of items that is spread widely online especially through social media
… the band encouraged fans to make memes to advertise the U.S. release of their EP …
—William Gruger
The grumpy cat meme frowned its way onto the Internet in September 2012 and never turned its dissatisfied head back. Since then, the image of the cranky cat has grown more and more popular in direct proportion to appearing less and less impressed by fame.
—Anastasia Thrift
2: an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture
Memes (discrete units of knowledge, gossip, jokes and so on) are to culture what genes are to life.
Just as biological evolution is driven by the survival of the fittest genes in the gene pool, cultural evolution may be driven by the most successful memes.
—Richard Dawkins
the one with the office worker surprised that they told him it was free money,,, hehe, his face is a poem
They cannot take away hive from you, unless they block the entire internet. Get a VPN before they do that!
The guy in the meme is great, he is from this 1999 movie called "Office Space".

Which VPN do you recommend? They are blocking a lot of things here...
I use one called ExpressVPN when I am at my place in Costa Rica, it's okay, there are probably better ones though. If I were you, I would ask other Venezuelans what they use. Like @malos10 is a friend of mine who might know a good one for you.
ok ok, gracias.....

¡No hay problema, es un placer!
Hello, I hope you are well, could you help me...(a question yesterday, I went to hive-engine and placed an order for 300 chulo, how long do I have to wait for them to give them to me?)
I think tokens are supposed to be instantly delivered with a few seconds, to maybe a minute or two depending on how busy the API nodes are, but I honestly don't have any idea what the correct answer is. That is a question for the owner of the Chulo token.
Yes, I already wrote to you, thank you, a beautiful day
