Leodex - Hive swap services

in #hive20 days ago (edited)

This will be my final review for the moment of Hive swap services. It took me awhile to get this review all together, as I ran into numerous issues while trying to swap using this Dapp. @alex-rourke tried to help me but, we were unsuccessful in recovering my funds.

Basically I cannot recommend Leodex, as at the end of the day I was unable to pull some of my funds off their site, and I consider them lost until I can otherwise get them off their wallet. And with no way to get support from Leodex it seems this is a dead end for any kind of swap services and I would not use it again.

Leodex is an Ethereum heavy swap service that allows you to trade coins (including bitcoin?) to ETH and other swappable tokens.

You must hold a token called ARB to swap using ETH to other tokens. LEO offers a faucet, but it will eat your LEO if you do not send it correctly (They do not explain how to send it correctly). So I already lost some LEO using their wallet. A second time trying I was successful.

My problems started with trying to get what is called ArbiETH, not to be confused with ARB or ETH. But after messing around I was able to get the tokens I needed to do a swap.

Also the BTC sent to the keystore wallet cannot be removed, when I try it says I have zero BTC to send. Even though there is over $100 in the wallet worth of BTC.

Says 0 balance

And when I try to send it just errors out.

I was able to pull out the ARB and get it to Hive, but the BTC remains.

All and all it looks like a lot of work has been put into the interface. But it consistently did not work for me, and even caused loss of funds.. So I cannot recommend it.

Looking for help, I went to the Leo community on Hive and checked out their rules. I saw a discord link there, so I was hoping I could find support for my funds I am unable to transfer inside their dapp.

Well seems their link is expired.

My journey ends here, with no options for support. I can just assume those funds are lost. I will keep the wallet keys in the case I can recover them, but otherwise seems like a waste of time putting any more effort with leodex.

Sort:

Leodex lost me at ETH. The biggest ripoff ponzi in the crypto sphere. The ridiculous Gas fee is nothing but extortion. Ethereum has straight up stolen over $100 from me. They call it a failed transaction. But keep the fee. Theft by deception I say. It happened to me twice. They will never have a third chance to rob me.

Thanks for the heads up on these bro! ❤️

I have been shocked seeing the gas fees sometimes, seems like ETH has some scaling help.

sucks you lost funds using ETH

Crypto has been a long strange trip for me. Has not been all bad. I wish I had read more posts like yours before trying things. Always good info from our SOLO !!

Try this one my friend: https://discord.gg/P62gGPsTAK

They do have a support ticket system in the Discord, but I would go in expecting it to be a slow process.

okay thanks, I will submit a ticket and see what happens.

Good luck!

Ticket has been open a few days.. since 9/28 No word from them yet. Just wanted to provide an update.

Sounds about right... Sorry, but thanks for the update.

Hey @solominer this is the discord link of LEO community: https://discord.gg/A3AJKXZy
They have a support ticket that you can open and they will get your money back if it's stuck.

ah okay thanks for the heads up.

At what point does it start to be considered to be theft?

Have all options been used?

No one here has direct contact with the people who run this operation?

"a lot of work has been put into the interface."
It is only DHF-money. So no real money. At least some DHF-drainers think that way, spending like there is no tomorrow.
The real problem is the whales who support such activities. The intention is OK, but the implementation, documentation and reporting is lousy.

Yeah I can see that, seems it all was built but without any user documentation.

that is sad! I was curious about this service...I was thinking about it as a possibility but your review is very clarifying! Probably they need to make some changes!

Ah yeah it does suck, hopefully they will.

I am very sorry that you have had all these inconveniences and loss of time in trying to make this transaction and the worst thing is that you have lost your money, dear friend @solominer
PS. I hope you can recover it

Thank you, hopfully I can too.

Hearing your reviews on this website you have to lose funds it is very unfortunate, may I ask you what you have previously exchanged through this website?
I hope to the relevant parties that this website needs a little change later.

Honestly this was my first time using it.

thanks

Indeed, the whole of your lost money cannot be transferred using another website, my brother?

You're welcome My brother.

All I got's 100, try not to spend it all in one place.

I haven't link to this website but I'm trying to get it straight and link, it's so sad hearing of your review, I was a long time thinking if there will be anywhere possible for me, well let not lose.

Well hopefully others have a better experience than me on the platform

This is worrisome. How can a significant amount of BTC get stuck there? I can imagine it being a horrible experience for a smaller investor, as $100+ worth of coins is considered a lot.

Thanks for the review and information.

Yeah it is worrying, I opened a ticket with them.. Waiting for a response now.

Hopefully they will settle it soon and come up with a fix to this issue.

I have so far stayed away from this, although I was very hopeful to have a "local" swap service, of sorts. Your review sort of underscores some of my own experience, just poking around.

It seems like a lot of effort went into LeoDex, but the execution is poor in that way of "blockchainiac developers assuming everyone else uses the web like they do" way. I say that, as someone who worked the Usability lab at a Fortune 100 OEM, many years ago.

I'm disappointed, because I'm actually a bit of a fan of the whole LEO/Inleo initiative... but it seems they screwed the pooch on this one...

=^..^=

It does seem quite the mess, hopefully I can get it resolved.. if I can I will do another post updating my experience with leodex.

Ooooops!
Maybe not yet a loss until they come to your rescue and no way to get your funds back.

As for me, I don't like loosing money even as low as $0.1 except it's an acceptable transaction fee. That's why I ask a lot of questions before using any exchange that I haven't used before

We shall see, yep it does always suck losing money.

LeoDex after taking your funds...

I'm having the same issue I exchanged some HBD for BTC and now I can't send the BTC 😭 please let us know if you get a solution to this issue.

Thanks

That is certainly extremely valuable information for anyone requiring such a service. I would hope your post on the matter would suffice to recoup your losses, but it seems not yet to have received enough curative interest for that. At the least you have my gratitude along with my $.02.

Thanks!
